Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Nursing Students Online Learning

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

My advisor stated I could take these 2 classes before Capstone..BUT advised not to...as it would ruin the "flow" lol I really don't think it would---I took nearly 6 months off--and it did not ruin the "flow" lol I'm taking a month off, to head back to Canada, then will double up and be done with it! Yes, it would be much nicer to be done after Capstone! If I were u----If you can get 1 of the desirable Capstone profs....do it first..if not, do the elective, then hope for 1 of the desirable profs

I just don't understand the comment about ruining the flow. If they wanted flow then they would have scheduled Stats, then research, maybe leadership, and then capstone. Sounds BS to me, I adapt to each class, I am a nurse......

I am playing around with the idea of taking a few weeks break so that my capstone class will be during the Christmas break rather than done the week before. It would be nice if I had week 2 of the capstone interrupted with the 2 weeks off for break. Two extra weeks to get the work done. Plus I could use a break right now.

For Capstone the first 2 weeks were the busiest...I still only worked 2 days a week on it though, so it is not that bad. still batting a .1000,lol I think the key is finding something u enjoy!

For the most part one could do Capstone at the beginning and do well....My writing has improved from the beginning, but 1 could figure it out.....well maybe not some.....Instructions clearly say the Abstarct is to be between 250-450 words....yet people have to ask about the length, as in the student success area says like 150-250 words!! It is Friday, beer is in the fridge, VIP movie tickets reserved to go see Avengers in 3D, life is good!!

You are going to love the movie....... I though it was pretty good.

I was scheduled to take my capstone in August and then have my extra elective after but I switched the two because I thought it would be better to do capstone when the kids went back to school so I could concentrate a little better. So yeah, they will switch you if you request

I must say I am very jealous of all of you graduating soon!! I will be there in a year...hopefully!

I waited and waited, and waited, no week 4 marks, but handed in my Capstone...Not overly concerned! Was a nice feeling to hand everything in...would have felt a great deal better if I was 100% done and did not have to do 2 more "anything" classes! But happy to miss Ethics and Community health, lol

Yes 1 can switch things around...but I don't really trust the advisors, as I have heard a few horror stories--such as 1 advisor telling 1 student they could take this "anything" class....they take it...pass it...then find out it is not accepted!! And I know 1 student who was told she was good to go class-wise--then get half way through the program....THEN say, oh no, we were wrong, you also need these extra classes....she fought that and won!

Avengers in 3D was very good....not sure if it was any better in 3D! Do love the leather recliner seats in VIP,lol IN Nicaragua, they had 1 movie complex that was all VIP---leather reclining seats...they brought ur food/beer to ur seat....Think it was $3!!
