Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Published

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

I came home, made some tea and sat on the porch watching the deer.

Can I come over?

Ahhh soon enough I can be detached from my computer.

The past 2 weeks my laptop has been having uncontrollable seizures, sometimes the blue screen of death and other times giving a quick error message (that disappears quicker than I can read the whole thing) saying something about my hard drive. The computer Gods are definitely with me, can you imagine if this was happening 2-3-4 weeks ago?? I shudder to even think about it.

Congratulations to those who are finishing or nearly finished! You need to be very proud of yourselves. What an amazing group! Sounds like the graduation event they have is lovely as well.

I am scheduled to start June 1. But I have a question, my late 20's daughter is engaged and getting married late summer/early Fall of 2016. She will be very decisive and not need me much. But when I do have a chance to participate in things, I want to be there to enjoy! So I again, don't know if this is a good time to start?

However, when things get closer, I can take a leave from the courses, correct? Has anyone needed to do that, any problems getting it to happen?

Rob-send those Candy Crushers down the canyon on an unruley donkey/may they have a rough ride! That is so bad! This staring at cell phones is out of control. To hear that professionals are doing this during working hours, it has got to be upsetting. I don't blame you. We have our cells out because we have 10 MD's who staff ICU, specialty hospitals, go to outlying areas. Texting is the best way to communicate with them. But that is it. To contact a physician.

Time off? Rules do vary if 1 is paying out of pocket or paying via student loans! I paid out of pocket and took nearly 6 months off between courses........I forget the max amount of time 1 can take off if paying via financial aid, and I think one can only take so many breaks as well...a student advisor would (hopefully) know

Enjoy Winter! Congrats on the hubs nailing a new job. Will you need to relocate? There's still that $10,000 sign on bonus at my hospital for new hires and the person who referred them! ;)

I wish! I will be in a small town (heading west) and initially will not even be working until we get our feet on the ground. I understand the community hospital is a half block from where we will be living, so maybe I can at least pick up a couple of shifts here and there.

My computer has to go to be repaired the video card went bad on it in April (just shuts the computer down without warning). I decided to go ahead and chance it. I was a saving fiend after every couple sentences. I email every document for a backup. It worked out but I was a nervous wreck over it all. But I didn't want to switch computers for the last class and a half. :cautious:

I think the same thing, prism!

These threads are like the Hotel California. You can never leave, lol

If I want to move closer to family, both states my daughters are in, require BSN, or so they say. I don't anticipate either moving back home to our state... this is a huge motivation for me.
