Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?
Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?
rob, I may have missed the update in the last few days, but how did your CLC turn out? The one with the MIA team members and it was going to be due when you were out of town?
You know, it turned out great except for the peptic ulcer. So why couldn't the group simply acknowledge the assignment, state they were working on it, and tell me they know the deadline is close? All work got handed in just a day or so late and the person I got to put it together did a fairly good job. I had to move a couple pictures around that were covering the words but besides that it was complete. The instructor gave me a 100% but I am not sure about the rest.
I was just glad to get home and find it competed. They did want me to turn it in because no one else ever submitted a group project. Funny thing was the GCU system was down at that time, but luckily it was soon fixed. Where was the communication nurses are known for?
I gave up trying to figure out group projects. You would think people would get to the group forum ASAP and get things figured out and be on their way! And every now and then give an update....ya right, lol
I am hoping for a better group in Nursing Ethics. I just logged on and found that there were 68 unread discussion posts and it is only Tuesday. In my last class it would take until Thursday or Friday to have 68 discussion posts total. I am hoping that many more people in this class will be on the ball and want to get it done early. It would be nice if the final CLC project was a good one..... I don't think I will hold my breath.
On an unrelated note, do you think that a phone app that prevents Candy Crush from working while in the hospital should be installed on all nurse phones? I have one particular co-worker that I catch playing all the time. If I see her playing Candy Crush when I walk through the unit again I think I am going to scream!!

I think cell phones should be banned while ur working, and made to be kept in the staff lounge!! A fair # were on the phones all the time at the nurses stn!! Then they would bytch later on about not having enough time...maybe put down ur phone! I'm addicted to the internet--love it--but at work, I stayed away!!

Facebook here...it drives me insane! I'm a mean charge nurse, so if I see them on their Facebook, they get the next admit.
If a person has a problem, it stays in the locker. My phone stays by my desk on vibrate. I need it close by for family issues. I only look at my phone for texts from social work, managers, staff, etc.
My kids and husband know top call the cell for emergencies, rather than go through the operator etc
Woohoo. Doesn't it feel sooo good.....almost eery that you're done....like really for real done...no paper orDQ to do....it's heavenly.
Getting up today...naw, rolled over picked up my mini, read. Then sat in the chair for a good hour, listening to my son. Tried a nap, didn't happen (big news, husband got a job...still have to meet two other committees, but at this point the job is ours!), got to chatting about this and that, and then that and this. Hehehehe...Sublime is the word!
Keep it up team, you'll enjoy your free time very soon!
