Nursing license

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I will lose my nursing license in April 2016 because I do not have a conferred degree. I am currently taking biology the class I need to complete my degree. My question is do I go on leave until I complete degree considering associate degree is required in nurse practice act? Yes I have posted before so please no negative comments I am an excellent nurse and love my patients and my job. I was honest and told the board myself because I was trying to get bachelor degree and caught mistake.

Yes and it would only happen to me. I was so happy to pass nclex never thought about not getting degree in mail.

So from the brief amount of info I've read, did you not complete a college course and therefore did not get awarded your official educational degree but your school went a head and sent everything in like all was good for you to take (and pass) the NCLEX?

I am standing in line to register for a class that will not make me a better nurse

How do you know that? You may well learn something that makes you go "Ah..."

While I understand your frustration, do know that education is never without value of some sort. Have an open mind about this. You just might learn something valuable.

I understand you are frustrated, however things are what they are. You did fail to complete the process of graduation so now you must jump through hoops to get this problem fixed. Take the class, make the best of it, and be glad when you are done. As far as working as a nurse.. If you search for your license online and it says it is suspended, you cannot work as a nurse. Doing that will put you at risk to lose your license completely. Speak with your employer and see if they will allow you to take a leave or have you work in another non-nursing role until this issue is resolved. Good luck with this frustrating matter.

That's what I'm gathering. I don't understand how OP was allowed to sit for the NCLEX without being qualified to do so?

I thought you were taking bio this past fall?

Specializes in Medical oncology/Radiation Oncology.

In order for you to sit for NCLEX your college had to have submitted all your documentation for graduating. Did you contact your college or advisor and see what happened? I tried to read through all of the threads, but I'm not sure I have the complete story.

Biology 101 was not required until 2011 I graduated or thought I graduated in 2009.I did not sign paper for conferred degree when I returned to college they stated I needed biology 101 so I paid 945.00 in order to take course. No one could make this up. Believe me I have tried everything.

No it is valid I check everyday. The board will just not renew in 2016. Thank you and I am doing my best in Biology.

Thank you so much I need all encouragement I can get.
