Australian nurse

Hi, I did 2.5 years of nursing school in Canada as I am Canadian. I ended up failing as I did not get along with my prof. I spent the year trying to get into another school with no luck so decided to finish my last year and a half in Australia. Australia only has a 3 year program though and I would like to move back. I have enough clinical hours but might be short if they just look at what I did in Australia. Do you think I could come back right after I graduate?

You'll be treated as in internationally educated nurse. You'll have to pass the Australian RN exam before you'll be considered for Canadian registration. You'll have to apply for eligibility, submit to an assessment of your education and potentially a substantially equivalent competence exam like any other nurse who graduates in Australia.

Your statement that you failed because you "didn't get along with" your prof is a curious one. Usually there are several profs teaching each semester in the nursing faculty and it would take more than one personality conflict to result in a fail. Whatever the reason, having done part of your nursing education in Canada will not provide you with any special dispensation. Sorry.

....and you paid massive amounts of money for a foreign degree and 'trouble of obtaining student visa, that you did not check that pesky Australian nursing degree would/would not be suitable for your own country....mmmmmm

And the OP recently started another hread still complaining about being failed. like jan said, it takes more than the opinion of one teacher to get you ousted from a program.
