nurses visas? all used up?

Published

I am a nurse from tha philippines. I already have my visa certificate. Last month I received a letter form the national visa center informing me of my status.. Included is my petitioner's name, visa case number etc. My priority date is october,2006. Now I have heard that all visa for nurses were use up.. Now Im wondering if this will affect my application? Do you have any idea when will the I-140 visas will be available again?

your reply will be appreciated. Many thanks.

devshop what packet are you now?

since there is retrogression, may i ask how long will it take if the petition will start til packet3? thanks

All comes down to if the attorney filed the appropriate documents and USCIS does not need to requesr anything else. Then how fast that the employer pays the bill for the visa, or who ever is paying for it. That is where the biggest delay is going to be right now, most employers are not paying it until they know of a definite date that visas will be available again.

Could be just two months or so, or more than a year.

hi! im wondering though since we are in the topic of petitioning and US visas if i could ask i question.... i am still in the initial stage of the petitioning process, specifically the filing of the I-140. are there any instances wherein i may actually get denied and don't go on to packet 3?..

my other concern is that the agency im with made sure applicants filled up this surety bond with them. in case we were not able to, in 2 years time, complete all the requirements (that is finish the petition and work for the employer) we were required to pay a sum of money for compensation... is that legal?

i would really like to hear some feedback from all of u. thank u.

suzzane, how many months will it take for the I-140 to be approved?can u give me even an approximation? thanks.

all get filed in Nebraska but then some are transferred. Do you know your number? Nebraska are taking a few months and there is a thread giving rough timelines on this forum. https://allnurses.com/forums/f75/nebraska-service-center-tracker-i-140-a-203470.html

Run as fast as you can from them, the surety bond is a bunch of garbage, if you are aking me. And shame on the agency. And yes, there are instances that the I-140 can get denied, and for any number of reasons. Most of the time it is that there is no real job waiting for you. So what about a fee that the agency has to pay you for wasting your time if you get denied because of something that they did? And it is usually that way.

You also have no control over how long that USCIS will take.

No idea, the bigger issue would be if it was 100% complete, or if they need to ask for more information...........there is no time frame set in stone, then the next would be is the employer going to pay the visa bill for you to go onto the next packet, or are they going to wait until visas are available again?

suzanne, is it possible that ill be the one to pay for the visa bill?or it should be the employer?coz im willing to pay for it..

That was something that should have been discussed with your employer in the beginning. You will need to discuss it with them.
