Getting Married?
hi suzanne! can i insert a somewhat similar question here for you? i've heard that even if i did not include my boyfriend's name on the DS-230 that was filed, but do still get married around the time before my Packet 4 arrives(or before interview), I can still bring him with me as long as I've filed and paid the necessary papers needed for him. Is this true? And what is this Follow to Join Visa that I keep hearing about? It takes about one year processing after which your hubby can follow you in the US if he wasn't able to go to the US with you at the same time? Is this also true? Thank you in advance and more power!

immigration medical exam
what i mean is that what if you're already post PTB having gone through the series of medications and not anymore contagious. xrays may still show that as old scars. so, is the US embassy so strict that they may still deny visa if that was the case?

immigration medical exam
Appealing to all filipino nurses which of whom have already been through the medical exam at st. lukes and subsequently finished with their US embassy interview... i have a theoretical question... what if your x-ray results show a tiny opacity on the upper left lobe of your lungs which may or may not suggest tuberculosis. if it is confirmed as TB, medication was suggested for 2 months. Now, my question is that, I know that communicable diseases are a no no such as active TB, but what if you are post-TB and still the x-ray shows findings that may be interpreted as an old scar. Would that become a basis for the denial of visa? Do you any cases that went through this? please help... thank you in advance!

Solon says appeal to US on nursing visas a BAD idea??
i say ditto to increasing nurses salaries first instead of implementing a law that mandatorily says that we nurses should have to work for our country(Philippines) first. don't they know that low wages are the ones pushing us to find better opportunities abroad? entry level nurses here are so undervalued... we are just merely choosing to upgrade our way of life and find a place which appreciates the work we do and compensate us fairly.

considering lubbock
hi to everyone! i am a nurse in the philippines, currently being petitioned for a working visa to the US. My destination will eventually be in Lubbock, Texas and i'll be working for the Covenant Health System. As i am going to embark on this new journey abroad, can anyone pls help in a way and describe how life is in Lubbock...? Also my initial offer from Covenant is $19.75.... is that a good offer and a sufficient income for a nurse? any feedback would really be helpful. thank u in advance!

nurses visas? all used up?
hi! im wondering though since we are in the topic of petitioning and US visas if i could ask i question.... i am still in the initial stage of the petitioning process, specifically the filing of the I-140. are there any instances wherein i may actually get denied and don't go on to packet 3?.. my other concern is that the agency im with made sure applicants filled up this surety bond with them. in case we were not able to, in 2 years time, complete all the requirements (that is finish the petition and work for the employer) we were required to pay a sum of money for compensation... is that legal? i would really like to hear some feedback from all of u. thank u.

need advice
can someone pls clarify this for me... Upon employment in the states, they'd offer a refund of fees/expenses incurred on NCLEX exam, sign on bonus, airfare for u and family, relocation allowance, and etc.... Are these incentives available if i go through the direct hiring process or only via agency recruitment??? And in terms of financial expenses, will it be better to let an agency shoulder all the expenses for an immigrant lawyer, filing fees, airfare, etc. and then have them cut back a percentage of your salary.... OR better for me to shoulder at least $5-6T for an immigrant lawyer plus all the additional fees if i opt for direct hiring? pls share your stories on what those of you chose to do. this can really help me decide on my future. thank u so much and god bless!
