Attn: Nurses from Texas, USA (esp. Filipino ones):balloons:
I'm planning to work in Baptist Health System in San Antonio, Texas as RN. I have an aunt (from Connecticut) who also works in Houston, TX. Pls. share your experience. Are there many filipinos in Texas?
huh? When did you process your immigrant visa?
i believe immigrant visa is under retrogression.
Well, just my luck. Half a decade passed, and Im still here. Renewed my passport, Phil.license, etc. several times and im still here. I guess my US license and visa scree expired already as well (?). Tsk. hehe
I hope the hospital would not withdraw our pending applications due to retrogression. Afterall, we signed a contract already. That must be a mutual understanding. Erm, how much are they offering now, if you dont mind. Just PM/ email me. TY:nurse:
Hi reeyah,
Filipino here too.. hope you wont mind if I ask how did you able to get employer in Texas, is it thru direct hire or with an agency? Thank much. Any info is greatly appreciated.
Be blessed!☺☺☺
i dont know how to PM here in allnurses, hehe.. i dont know about the experienced nurses, but they offering $22/per hour for new grad without experience. of course plus differentials for evening and night shifts..
A salary like that with lesser tax and cost of living is way better than here in a 3rd world country. Sucks bigtime!

That's a shame.. you should have already processed through in 5 years.
Are you going through an agency or an immigration lawyer?
My suggestion is to ditch the hiring/staffing agency if that's what you are doing and get in touch with a US-based Immigration attorney. He/She will be more inclined to find the right option for you instead of what gets him/her the most money.
If your license has expired you can re-activate it although the requirements are different for each state and I'm not sure offhand what Texas requires.

good for you. nope, im still here in the Philippines. US Retrogression was timely during my application. Are you a US citizen already? Some of my friends got in at Baptist and it seemed okay, for Filipino standards. Nursing anywhere else is Im sure much better than here... hehe
