I'd be wonderful to live and work in Las Vegas, I think :)
*sigh*... then again, the unemployment rate in that state, I've heard, is astronomical
Clarification: The question should ask, "If jobs were equally abundant THROUGHOUT America..."

Somewhere beautiful, with a low population of rich people who pay their own hospital bills in full, and whose residents are polite and civil.
Wait... you said somewhere in America....

I'd want to work at Seattle Grace/Mercy West Hospital. The residents there do EVERYTHING.

I live in upstate NY. It would be perfect here if we New Yorkers weren't so overly taxed. If I were to choose another place to live and work as an RN, it would be the mountains of western NC. Pure heaven.

Tonight, somewhere warm. With great nurse/pt ratios, cheap quality housing, and awesome scenery...is that too much to ask???
Well, just a tad...!

To work? I'm gonna go with CA for the ratios even though that and the nursing job shortage are the only things I know about working in CA. I would love to live in San Francisco though, so working there would certainly make that easier!

I've always wanted to live in San Francisco! Back in high school when everyone said there was a nursing shortage, I decided I wanted to work at Kaiser on Geary Blvd and rent a room close by so I could bike everywhere. Of course now that's virtually impossible to do as a new grad.
