Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

Hi everyone, has anybody here applied to ACN, formerly, CON and ...? I thinkI had some disappointments with them because

1. I have given them all documentations needed last March and they told me to wait. I did.

2. Followed-up regularly as to the schedule of selection for the July intake. They kept telling me that I am on the selection list.

3. Followed-up on June 2, only to be told that I am not accommodated for the July intake.

4. They told me that I am still on the selection list for their upcoming intakes.

Having been disappointed, I submitted my documents to ETEA and IHNA. Now, I a, not sure about these two schools. I read previous comments though.

Having read previous comments, it dawned on me that Australia does not seem to need anymore foreign-trained nurses. So questions again,

1. Why would the AHPRA still accept applications for registrations if such is the case?

2. Why should schools that offer the BP still offer it when there are already lots of Aussie nurses who are hard in finding jobs?

I am still hopeful to get to Oz and be registered and probably find a job but then again, if such is the scenario, what future awaits me and the others who might have borrowed money just to get registered as a nurse and Australia and then be jobless after.

Probably the AHPRA and the ANMC should look into this. Do not make overseas nurses only sources of revenue by going through the process and then be jobless when they are finally registered.

This reasoning has got me beat!! Is there not hundreds of nurses graduating every year from nursing schools there when there is no jobs? And when they pass NLE exam the PRC keeps on Registering Nurses?

Hi there! When did you submit all the requirements for the BP? How much time did you wait to be accommodated for the July intake? I would to know because I am not as lucky as you.

HI neproudigorot, I submitted my enrollment form last january 2013, then complied all the requirements towards the end of april, then, received the offer letter last june 6, 2013. Its quiet frustrating because most often you thought that you already complied all the requirements, then suddenly, you'll received another email from them requiring additional documents.

Yes and the PRC and BON has done steps to curb the problem and the government has started to create jobs for nurses albeit unsustainable but that is probably the best remedy.

So you applied on your own. That was exactly what happened to my application. They have told me that I have completed the documents and then when you get in touch with them again, there is another. To whom have you been communicating with in ACN? Do pm me the name? Thanks!

Really?

Interesting news item tonight on the news, Nurses from the Phillipines complaining to their embassy about having to pay big loans back to finance companies of 50% of their wages back to companies back in the Phillipines, though blaming Australia for allowing it to happen....not sure how that works as well!!! and many not having jobs and scared to return home.

Everyone makes their own decisions in the end.

Even though when desperate for a better life is so inviting, one must still weight up the reality.

To live here is very, very expensive, we need to make good money just to survive and when it is cut in half by 50%. impossible to live.

Unemployment is rising and yes, immigration sites and agencies keep on advertising it free for all, everyones pockets are lined in gold, looks good with international governments.

I am told time and time again for posting warnings of, trying to break the dream and being pessimistic and that God will provide. Most of the nurses I have met searching for jobs are good God believing people, I doubt that they would be treated any differently by God than those that were just plain lucky, applied at the right time and were at the right time at the right place and just happened to have the experience an employer needed in a nurse.

Its okay having a dream but please be realistic when it come to money and taking out big loans. ANMAC, AHPRA are not responsible for that.

There is no way will AHPRA stop registering nurses from overseas, what about those who want to immigrate independently? those nurses who complete BP and want registration to apply for permanent immigration, and those nurses who want to join their spouses or partners? who are Australians or Permanent resees?

Though perhaps insisting that education institutions are on a par with Australian nursing education (education given by a considered university standard, having research into nursing, Having professors as lecturers, lecturers with much experience) maybe one criteria they could become more thorough, to curb many applications being successful, but then there would be uproar from those applicants...

hello everyone im new here, i already passed my online interview in IHNA and they already send me offer letter and other documents to pass. I need to pay AUD1500 so they can start processing my application. so I called my agency for my loan as I cannot afford the BP fees. I told them I got offered by IHNA but to my surprise they told me that they are not sending nurses to IHNA because the IRON program in IHNA is in inactive status in the AHPRA website. I checked and yes it was written inactive since january 2013 up to 2018, I got scared because this is the only chance I get for my AHPRA will expire on Oct this year. I had a chat with my friend who is already in Aus and asked him if the person he met who took the BP in IHNA had already his or her registration and he said yes, less than 2 weeks.I need help to those who are taking BP in IHNA, I emailed AHPRA about my concerns but no response yet. Hope to hear from anyone who know about this things. very mush confused...Thank you! =)

IHNA is accredited by ANMAC and AHPRA, have a look at the accredited schools,, their older program has been made inactive the one that had conditions placed upon it.

They apparently were awaiting accreditation from another, as a training organisation for other courses and they had to pass that, before they were given ANMACs approval, which they must have done.
