Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

Hey guys. I'm new here (I'm from the Philippines) and I'm having a hard time going back pages. But can someone please help. I need to know how to secure an eligibility letter from AHPRA so then I can start processing for the bridging program. What are the requirements? Where do I send them? Do I have to pay for anything just for the letter of eligibility? I would appreciate a response since I want to make it to the January 2014 program. :(

Hi ayanami, try to contact your AHPRA case officer and explain your situation. In which state did you apply?

Does the bridging program to one state applies to every state? I mean if I finished my BP in Perth, am I allowed to work in NSW or Victoria?

Yes, you can work Australia wide.

thanks for the reply annie_v2g. are you by any chance done in BP? so here's my story. I'm an immigrant in the US and I will be taking the NCLEX but I did not take the PNLE. I want to migrate to Australia due some private reason but the problem is my that parents won't allow me. My plan is that after passing the NCLEX, I will find a job and work so that I can save money to sponsor myself for the bridging program. My question is that is passing the NCLEX and work experience in the US enough or I should pass the PNLE and work in the Philippines first where I finished my BS Nursing ?

Hi khaleesi123. Yes, I'm done with the BP last March 2013. I am not that familiar with the requirements if you are coming from the US but whichever way, either you choose to pass PNLE or NCLEX, you still need enough hospital experience. However, in my opinion, it will be better to take NCLEX and get a job in the US so you can save for your BP. Because nowadays, it is really hard to get a job in the Philippines, and of course, it wont allow you to save the money that you will be needing. Furthermore, applicants with experience from Countries like USA, Ireland, UK, NZ, AU are preferred by employees or agencies here in Au as seen in ads.

I think this will be the third time that I will be sharing my experience about the BP. Some of you guys have heard my story before about how my journey has been. After finishing the BP last March 2013, I began applying for jobs here in Au. I had 3 interviews, one from NSW, and 2 from VIC. Aside from that, I am supposed to have my interview with VIC's biggest private hospital but unfortunately, it was cancelled because they knew that I needed their sponsorship. However, before getting these interviews, I received a lot of reject letters as well. I mean, LOTS. I passed all my interviews, with God's grace. Since my interview with one of the hospital here in Vic was the fastest among them to process my papers, I decided to go with them. Had my interview in May 1, got my nomination approval just last May 31, lodged my 457 visa this June 1 and finally, got my 457 visa approval just last night. :) This is the most wonderful feeling I had. To God be the Glory! :)

If you get a job as RN in the US for full time at least three months, this gets you out of IELTS and the bridging program.

Ps I am not an assessor of AHPRA but that has been happening to those that post here and have worked for at least 3 months in English speaking country.

Though you will need IELTS for a visa.
