Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

Just to be sure, contact BUPA directly. They do answer promptly to emails. I am on subclass 456 (business short stay visa) during my bp days. I didn't obtain an insurance then. But when I applied for a 457 visa, i need to get an insurance for me and my dependants.

Also, inform BuPA that you will be needing the coverage for 3 months only.

A normal chest xray findings. No need to bring the film, just the official reading.

for those who have applied at ACN (formerly CON), what if i lost my hepa b vaccination record, is the anti-hbs titer enough to support my past vaccination with hep-b?

Where in Australia did you get a job as a dialysis nurse? How much do they pay you? I'm sorry if it's too personal, but I'm really curious.. I'm just starting. I hope you don't mind? :) Thanks.

My BP started in January and ended in March. I need to exit last April 6 but during that time, I already have my registration with me. Also, before I went back to the Philippines, I booked a return ticket to Au. I decided to go back to Australia after 20 days because I applied for so many jobs and I was wondering, what if they called and I am not around. I just cant let the chances pass.

Another thing, I left my mobile phone to my friend here in Au so she was the who received my first invitation for interview. My friend gave me the number and when I called, I informed the Nurse Manager that I'm still in the Philippines because of my visa. The Nurse Manager was kind enough to wait for me to come back. :)

My another interview invitation which is from NSW, was just sent thru email.

I have a friend who did the BP as well, and she's in the Philippines when she had her interview. She passed and right now, she's also processing her visa.

My sponsorship and nomination was paid by my employer, but the lodging and payment of the 457 visa at my own expense. 457 visa is $455 at the moment. I have read that it will increase by July 1 to $900, but I am not really sure if that's true.

Good luck everyone. Pray hard, it works. :)

Tip: make sure that you have relatives in Australia if you decide to come back, it's just not practical to come back and pay for an accommodation.

Ms. Annie, Thanks for your message. When you exit australia..is there a minimum day that you should stay in Phils before you come back in australia or is it just a personal decision to stay 20 days here in phils before going back again? also, my passport will expire august 2014. I have to renew it before january 2014. In the event I find a job there in australia, is it better to get the 457 visa 1st then renew your passport or get your passport renewed then apply for 457 visa?

Thanks!

There is no minimum or maximum day you should stay in the Philippines. It is a personal decision to go back as soon as i can because I am worried that employers might not be able to reach me if they decided to grant an interview, especially if I stayed for too long in the Philippines. When you apply for a visa, your passport should be at least 6 months valid (i think i've read that somewhere) so to avoid any hassles, just renew it before you apply a visa.

IHNA is accredited by ANMAC and AHPRA, have a look at the accredited schools,, their older program has been made inactive the one that had conditions placed upon it.

They apparently were awaiting accreditation from another, as a training organisation for other courses and they had to pass that, before they were given ANMACs approval, which they must have done.

Thank you @ceridwyn, im just very worried! i will pursue my application then. Maybe my agency is not that updated with IHNA. anyway, if their IRON program is not accredited by AHPRA then why some nurses took their BP in IHNA had their registration certificate. oh well must believe people who knew best! =)
