I'm a HUGE Disney fan and have just decided that this is a dream job of mine.
Has anyone looked into this or know anyone who was a nurse @ Disney?
Would love to know how often jobs come up (I'd guess not often) what kind of background they look for, what type of duties they perform and how pay compares to hospitals.
Thanks!

I didn't know that that was an option. Sounds like a great opportunity.
If they have one, I wonder if I could be a nurse at Harry Potter Land?

Ok, I had anaphylaxis once in Disneyland, Cali. The nurses, there were two of them, definitely had tons ICU experience counting by how quickly they accessed the situation, got Epi, got ivs, were not afraid to give third and forth Epi and one of them eventually, and successfully, intubated. They were staff of the park, by badges.
I suspect that, counting what sorts of emergencies one might encounter in place like that (anaphylaxis, drowning, seizures, heart attack, single or mass trauma, heat stroke, things like this) the nurse must have ICU/ER and trauma experience to do this sort of job, possibly even some sort of military training counting the possibility of mass casualties.
I know a lady who works as HD RN for Carrabean cruises... she has years of ICU and acute HD, and, by her, her days in the sea are mostly 18 hours or so. Hardly seeing seas, mostly working whenever the ship might be.

Love this thread! I've had similar thoughts about being a nurse in Disney or even on a cruise ship lol.

There are several positions at Disney for nurses! There are those who work with the public in a first aid/emergency capacity and employee health nurse(s). This too is a dream of mine, and I have researched it extensively! I always joke with my husband, that our 401k is not for retirement it is so we can afford to live in So Cal so I can work for Disney.

One of my Disney fanatic nursing friends posted a link for nursing opportunities at Disneyworld. Not my cup of tea but to each their own.

I visited the nurse in Disneyland after something blew into my eye on Space Mountain. She washed out my eye and I could resume my day which was great! She had on a "white nurse dress," white stockings, white leather shoes and ofcourse her cap. She looked like a nurse right out of the 50's. I thought it was fun, but at that time, it wasn't a job for the "scrubs and tennis shoes nurse."
