Greetings!
After binge reading the thread for 2015-2016, I decided it's time to start one for this year. I am a single mother opting to pursue a BSN after a post-quarter life crisis. Because I have multiple degrees, I have just about exhausted all of my financial aid options. I would like to hear from anyone applying for the scholarship. What's your story? What are your stats? Previous applicants and recipients I would like to hear your story too!
Starting at a private nursing school in May (with what little fin. aid I have left)
1 year AmeriCorps
1 year internship at group home for at-risk adolescents
5 years working with Dept. of Corrections (2.5 of which were counseling offenders)
EFC: 544
GPA: 3.9
Community service hours: 45
Location: GA
Hello everyone!
Did you all apply as BSN students or DNP students?
We're freaking out over here waiting on my wife to get some news. She's a DNP student, graduating 5/2018. I looked up her credit report and saw something by "FDC" about the same timeframe as everyone else but we don't know if that's the same thing.
Any help is appreciated!
I am an ABSN student, but there are many NP students too. I think MS level NPs is first tier and DNP is second tier. The credit reports are from CREDCO and everyone that had one, that I have seen had it on 7/15. There are also ADN (RN) students that are first tier as well. If you google "nurse corp guidance pdf" it will pull up the pdf where you can find lots of information about funding and the tier preferences.
Hope that helps a little. Good luck!

Hey! Wow I didn't even think to look here for information about the scholarship. So glad I found it! Mine is also "In final review" but I don't have a signed contract, as far as I can tell. Just says that I signed it.
My question, is have yall tried to find places to work using their website? It doesn't seem like there are many options for me in Atlanta, which is a little surprising. Have any of you found a better resource to check?
Congrats to those who have gotten these participant emails! I received a notification on Sept 3 that I had gotten the award and I just assumed that it was a done deal after I completed the paperwork, but now you have me worried :)
My account still says "Under Review". I have accepted the fact that I will not be receiving the award and will need to drop my classes.... But there is still that nagging piece of me that says "I haven't recieved an official rejection yet so maybe there is hope".
Looking back through the NURSE Corps scholarship threads from previous years there isn't a single posting by anyone saying they had received the scholarship after September 20th. It seems between the 22-25th they sent out all of the rejection emails to all of us left in the "Under Review" status.
Congratulations to all of the recipients, you are endeavoring into a noble, challenging and rewarding profession. Make us proud!

I know someone who just got a participant email - how's it going for everyone else?
