After binge reading the thread for 2015-2016, I decided it's time to start one for this year. I am a single mother opting to pursue a BSN after a post-quarter life crisis. Because I have multiple degrees, I have just about exhausted all of my financial aid options. I would like to hear from anyone applying for the scholarship. What's your story? What are your stats? Previous applicants and recipients I would like to hear your story too!
Starting at a private nursing school in May (with what little fin. aid I have left)
1 year AmeriCorps
1 year internship at group home for at-risk adolescents
5 years working with Dept. of Corrections (2.5 of which were counseling offenders)
Nothing today, anyone?? Was very much hoping, but disappointed by 9 a.m.
No I was so hoping the same thing. They haven't sent any out in a while I hope there not just done by now. Trying to stay positive but it is really hard.
There's no way they're out of $$ yet.... a handful of folks here have been offered and declined, even within the last round of selections at the end of July. Don't lose hope, guys! Have you SEEN the qualifications some of us have??! We're amazing-- surely good things are coming.
Nothing yet over here. I was hoping to hear some good news today being that classes start August 22nd for me and this is my last little hope to actually be able to attend full time and graduate in two years
No credit check & no award over here... Has anybody asked why some of us haven't received a credit check instead of who does receive credit checks? I was wanting to today but I'm not sure if I'll have time.

Ask by phone to the customer service? I don't think they would say even if they did know. Just that they have until sept. 30th and we still have time I'm sure.
Still nothing here, starting to worry if there was some strange fatal flaw in my application that I didn't know about. I re read my essays, no grammatical or spelling errors, answered the questions asked, resume is good.. Oh well. I did my best, and thought I was a great fit for the program. I'll still keep my fingers crossed but not banking on it

I wish I could say don't worry, but I know it's easier said than done because I was starting to worry as well. But the good news is that they have shortened the time for submitting all the acceptance paperwork...I have to submit everything by 8/14. So looks like they'll be sending more award emails btwn now & then...
and after 8/14 if some people fail to send back the paperwork by the deadline.
OMG! I can't even believe I'm typing this. I just received my scholarship award email. I'm so grateful & I hope everyone waiting receives it as well.
What time did you get the email? And did you get a credit check? When did you get the inquiry? My mind is just trying to figure out what they are doing. And CONGRATS!
