After binge reading the thread for 2015-2016, I decided it's time to start one for this year. I am a single mother opting to pursue a BSN after a post-quarter life crisis. Because I have multiple degrees, I have just about exhausted all of my financial aid options. I would like to hear from anyone applying for the scholarship. What's your story? What are your stats? Previous applicants and recipients I would like to hear your story too!
Starting at a private nursing school in May (with what little fin. aid I have left)
1 year AmeriCorps
1 year internship at group home for at-risk adolescents
5 years working with Dept. of Corrections (2.5 of which were counseling offenders)

I would even love to know that I'm just not getting it at this point if I'm not. At least I would know lol. Does that make sense?
I agree with you. I would also rather know if I'm not at this point. Credit check on 7/15, like everyone else, but no email...knowing whether I am or not will be helpful in discerning the next step. My fall tuition deadline is Aug 16th so I'd rather just know.
I just called and the rep told me that awards were still being disbursed up until September 30th and that my application was still under the review procesd at the moment.
Thanks everyone for the support! 3 others from my program have been awarded it so I am just a bit panicky. Ultimately I want to do community primary care anyways, and will do it if I get the scholarship or not, which is frustrating as some (definitely not all!!) are doing this for the money.
I'm so surprised no one else has gotten award emails! Paperwork was due 8/1 and 8/3, so I was assuming more awards would have gone out for people who didn't accept their awards or didn't get their paperwork in on time. Hoping maybe tomorrow!!

Hello all, for those who received the award, what is the paperwork that needs to be submitted? And is it all scanned & submitted online or do they mail the paperwork & you have to mail it back? I am just asking because I happen to be going away in the later weeks of August to visit family overseas before I start the intense acceleratedBSN which I know will not allow me to see them for a very long while. I therefore just needed to know, incase I got it, what would need to be submitted & whether I can do it online while away or what would need to be mailed. It's a W4 form, a verification of enrollment form (this hs to be filled out by your school and given an official seal), and you have to electronically sign the contract.

The are shutting the site down on Saturday for maintenance. The past two times the shut it down awards went out. Keep your head up friends, there is is still time!!!

Did anyone get a credit check this week who hadn't gotten one before? I had hoped I would but no such luck.
