After binge reading the thread for 2015-2016, I decided it's time to start one for this year. I am a single mother opting to pursue a BSN after a post-quarter life crisis. Because I have multiple degrees, I have just about exhausted all of my financial aid options. I would like to hear from anyone applying for the scholarship. What's your story? What are your stats? Previous applicants and recipients I would like to hear your story too!
Starting at a private nursing school in May (with what little fin. aid I have left)
1 year AmeriCorps
1 year internship at group home for at-risk adolescents
5 years working with Dept. of Corrections (2.5 of which were counseling offenders)
Logically I know it's still early. Emotionally I feel so deflated and sad because I didn't get an email yesterday.

People with credit checks who did NOT get an award, what are your stats? I know they grade the essays and CV/letters of rec. very strongly, so stats aren't everything. I had an english teacher read over my essays and they were "okay" so that's up for question..My

Program: ABSN
EFC: 0
GPA: 3.73
1 year teaching English to ESOL and special education students in a low-income school.
I had a credit check 7/15 and still no e-mail. It is super discouraging, but I'm trying to keep hope because last year's recipients received e-mails over a couple of days.
Is there any chance they send the e-mails out based on location or last name?
Also, I've posted my stats before, but here they are again:
I had the credit check 7/15 and no award yet. Last year it looks like they sent awards daily from 8/3-8/8. There were some after that but it looked like maybe the majority came during that week. I did see several people who had credit checks last year but did not get the award or just never posted again if the did get it.
I called awhile back and the EFC doesn't matter at all if it's in the range they specified.
I'm in an ABSN program and my GPA is 3.78 for my first degree and 4.0 for the pre-reqs, if I remember correctly. My undergrad is in Human Services and I have 15 years experience in SSA disability and lots of volunteer work with homeless and helping rescue girls from the sex trade, among other things.

I received my email yesterday 7/26/16 doubt i had a credit check- gpa 3.6+ 4.0 pre reqs (5 classes) dual major. teacher- education /sociology- EFC=0
