After binge reading the thread for 2015-2016, I decided it's time to start one for this year. I am a single mother opting to pursue a BSN after a post-quarter life crisis. Because I have multiple degrees, I have just about exhausted all of my financial aid options. I would like to hear from anyone applying for the scholarship. What's your story? What are your stats? Previous applicants and recipients I would like to hear your story too!
Starting at a private nursing school in May (with what little fin. aid I have left)
1 year AmeriCorps
1 year internship at group home for at-risk adolescents
5 years working with Dept. of Corrections (2.5 of which were counseling offenders)
Hi Everyone for some reason I'm locked out of my other account FutureNurseEmilyP80. But I wanted to let you guys know I got an award email!!!!
I'm a ABSN student, EFC 0, GPA 4.0. 13 years of MA experience and volunteer working with female prison inmates with substance abuse history. I had a melt down when I got the news, but I feel so blessed. Congrats to those who got it, and don't loose hope!
Just and update, I got my email at 6pm EST and my credit was checked by CREDCO ON 7/15

To those who have not gotten a notification yet:
A) Know that there is still PLENTY of time! Try your best to relax, being anxious will only make it worse and will impact your studies and most importantly your health. Be kind to yourself and know that you gave if your ALL. THAT is worth celebrating.
B) If you are not selected, know that you will all be incredible nurses and will have so much to offer. With or without the scholarship, nursing is an extremely rewarding career that will provide both financial and spiritual peace. Don't ever lose hope! I hope an pray that each of you find true happiness in this amazing career.
Haven't received an award email but still feeling hopeful after reading last year's thread. It looks like most award emails were sent over 3-4 days, so hopefully we'll get some good news in the days to come! :)
Hi all! very excited to say I received an award email today around 5:40 pm!! Congrats to the others and good luck to everyone!! Is there consensus on the fact that this means we're definitely getting it? I'm thrown by the weird wording "been identified as a possible recipient"? (I think there was some discussion of this on last year's forum too). Good luck to everyone who's waiting!!
