2018 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program

Hi all,

I've been reading up on the Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program and looks like in past years, threads have been started for the yearly application process. I'll be applying as a Staff RN (non-faculty) working at a DSH with an HPSA Score of 16. Not sure of my DTI percentage yet. Hoping to connect with others that will be applying to the program next month and we can all share our updates here. Best of luck to everyone!

Yes, someone last year didn't get an award after accepting.

I accepted the NHSC award on August 14 and it has not been countersigned yet either.

I accepted 8/16 and also haven't received a countersign yet for NHSC. This wait is killing me.

I received a Finalist award in June and have not received a signature yet either. I guess we will all know something by 9/30.

For those of you who received a finalist email a month or longer ago and are still waiting on coungersignature, did you apply to NHSC or Nurse Corp? I received a finalist email on 8/17/18- applied to NHSC and I'm still waiting. I think alot of the people who were notified of final award status and countersigned right away was through Nurse Corp.

Hello,

I received my finalist email today 9/11 at 5pm from NCLRP. Here are my stats. Feel free to ask any questions.

4th year applicant

Role: RN

DTI: over 100%

HPSA: 15

Pray for me as I am on maternity leave and I am afraid it might impact my application.

Hi Sara, I noticed from last years thread that you got the finalist email but were never awarded. Did you ever find out why?

So as of 9/11 RN's are still being notified for the NCLRP? I did not even receive a credit check, last year I applied and had 2 credit checks.

RN HPSA 17, D/I 180% about. Little hope left I guess. good luck at least we will know one way or another. congrats to everyone and fingers crossed.

Well hopefully one or both of us will get countersigned. I accepted 7/9/2018 and expected to have a countersignature by now, but nothing has happened. I am not sure what the challenge is. I am an older applicant so I am not sure if that is the issue. I guess the not knowing is the hard part.

I have only seen a couple RN's respond. My stats are much like yours but my D/I isn't as bad. Our hospital had 8 people awarded last year so fingers crossed! If not, see ya next year and I'll get to include my BSN and my D/I will be close to 200%.

I received a finalist email on 9/6 and a countersignature today. I'm not sure what my HPSA score is but DTI ~200%. First time RN applying. Good luck to everyone! Hoping the countersignature means that I'm in and to get the welcome packet soon :)

I received my finalist email on 9/10 and countersignature today. Praise God!! I've applied for the last 5 years and finally heard something back. These loans have been hanging over my head. I see a light at the end of the tunnel.
