2017 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program

Nurses New Nurse

Published

Hi Fellow Nurses!

Is anyone else anxiously awaiting the 2017 cycle opening?

I have applied several times and praying that 2017 is my year. I'm tier 1 - not faculty and not an NP.

Is anyone else out there?

Any more award finalist emails since last Friday?

So, they have only sent awards to nurse Faculty and have until 9/30/17 to send out all awards? Although this is my first year applying (and I am trying to be optimistic) something seems odd about all of this. Hopefully, they are moving in batches and are just a bit slow this year. With the budget for this program being cut by 60% for next year. 2018 does not seem to be very promising. Fingers crossed for everyone that this is the year!

My Stats:

Credit check in June

RN at a CHC

Tier 1 facility

DTI 242%

Specializes in FNP: Urgent Care & Primary Care; RN: Med-Surg.

It's freakin' August!!!!

Crunchtime is here.

Is it possible then that they are only awarding nurse faculty this year?

No, I don't believe so. If you look in the application it lays out how the funding is spread out.

Nah. I think they are really behind this year. They were still doing credit checks into early June. Based on previous boards that's 1.5 to 2 months later than usual. I bet in the next week or two we start seeing awards left and right.

Still obsessively watching my e-mail, nurse corps, and this board. Hoping for the best, but expecting the worst at this point.

I think I'll try for next year. Here's to hoping for y'all this year!

I called yesterday and I was told that applications are still under review until September 30th. A little less than 2 months of anxiety left í ½í¸“í ½í¸¢

I'm taking it that no one heard anything this past Friday??

Under review still - Not a word I am an RN working at a VA with MH score of 17, my D/I is higher this year because I returned to school to finish my FNP Certificate, so its about 160%, I received a credit check in April. I have pretty much lost hope again, but this is odd that very few have been notified.

I had to wait until Sept 30th last year to get my denial email, but this year my D/I is a little higher with new loans and no increase in pay, but I think i forgot a transcript I took 1 class at Tennessee state and realize the school was not good so I changed programs, and dropped the class. So not sure if that will cause me to miss out.
