2017 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program

Hi Fellow Nurses!

Is anyone else anxiously awaiting the 2017 cycle opening?

I have applied several times and praying that 2017 is my year. I'm tier 1 - not faculty and not an NP.

Is anyone else out there?

I think it's important to keep in mind how slowly the government works. Don't lose faith. Funding has been set aside for this fiscal year for this program and has to be allocated.

I did happen to look back at last year no idea why, but i did see RN's that were notified 9/1 there were several, so I guess still hope. I found my note that I got my denial on 9/27/2016, so i figure a few more weeks, did not see many awards after the 1st week in September. Just going to have to wait another month I guess.

I agree! This is agonizing! I check my emails multiple times a day and the portal. I've applied to the program many, many years ago. Matter of fact, it was a paper application process back then. Obviously I never got it. Now I'm a NP with more debt. I got a Credco check on 6/5. DTI 130%. Facility 18. Tier 1.

I am floored that hardly anyone has heard ANYTHING!! With all of these credit checks & only a handful awards, what is going on??? I wish someone with HRSA could give us an update... :(

I'm wishing everyone finalist emails and a xanax mist in the interim. I'm losing my mind checking my email all day and waiting, waiting, waiting. head---->wall Plus, if a good offer isn't on the table then I'm going to have to totally reorganize my earnings (read: get a different job). I love the people I work with so come on guys (!!), give us some goooooood money!

I've gone from anticipation to excitement to frustration to anger. Will I be able to buy a house or what, HRSA? This is beyond ridiculous! :mad:

Something is not right. This is the WORST award turnout that I have seen in 4 years. Honestly, if they are already out of funds, they should just tell us. Beats being glued to our computers everyday. Has any RN'S heard anything yet? It's been so long since we've heard anything, I'm losing track of where they are in the process, if they aren't already finished, & we're just wasting time...

For those of you who received the email stating you are a finalist, does your portal account look different online or does it still say something like Being Reviewed?
