2017 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program

Nurses New Nurse

Published

Hi Fellow Nurses!

Is anyone else anxiously awaiting the 2017 cycle opening?

I have applied several times and praying that 2017 is my year. I'm tier 1 - not faculty and not an NP.

Is anyone else out there?

I'm an NP and haven't heard anything yet :(

Still nothing :/

Specializes in MSN, RN, PHN, CPHQ.

I'm an RN and haven't heard anything. I know the government moves slow, but this is ridiculous! The only thing I can think of is that many people have received offers/awards and they are just not posted here (i.e. not everyone knows about this site/post)? Either way, if I don't receive an award I will have to move onto another job-this just isn't sustainable without an award.

Looks like the only nurses that have been notified are Faculty. So keep hope alive!

I am NP. Still no word yet. NHSC site still says "under review"

I just joined the conversation. I applied last year, got denied, hoping to be approved this year. Credit check in June. Still under review, I am an NP

I saw that there is a HRSA facebook page, and I have been trying to scan it to see if anyone has posted anything about receiving awards. Nothing so far...

Maybe today is the day!

I called the customer service line to inquire if there was a delay in awards. I was told there were not any delays so I have no idea what is going on. That's discouraging...

:( I just don't understand...

Agreed! Unsustainable. I started applying to other positions (private hospitals) today. I decided I had to act as if I wouldn't get the award or that it wouldn't be nearly enough, otherwise I'd just lose my mind waiting. For reference, 200% DTI, RN.
