Just found out that one of our nurses (divorced w/ kids) is having an affair w/ a married doc. it is disguishing! what would you do if you were me?
I think it is totally unethical to have a work place affair, it just makes me sick to even have to work with these people.
Please help and explain to me why people are doing unprofessional things like that?:uhoh21:

It might be unprofessional. It might even make you feel sick to your stomach. However, it would be wise to simply let things take their course. In other words, stay out of it.
Don't take any action or become involved with the workplace affair. Pretend it does not exist because, in all honesty, it is absolutely none of your business.

Unless it's personally affecting your abililty to do your job, then you should probably just mind your own business. If it's affecting the workplace (i.e, she's using her relationship with the doctor as an excuse to slack off, whatever) then take it up the chain of command. Thier personal lives are no one's business but they should also be keeping their personal lives personal and their drama out of the workplace. When it seeps into the workplace it's a problem.

You need to mind your own business, as hard as it may be. Unless it is affecting patient care.

they should leave their affair somewhere else and do their job when they are paid to do so. i agree that their personal lives are non of anybody's business, but if it affects the working environment, then thats a problem that should not be ignored.
they should be professionals when they are paid to become one. they should respect their co-workers and their job...the hospital institution.
their ill conduct should be left at home.

Why are they doing it? Lust? Money? Power? Does it matter why?
I don't know. I am just shocked. I know I can stay out of their business but it is so hard to do so. Our place is so small. It is not in a hugh hospital settings, so basically I see these two disguishing faces everyday.
I know that this nurse is taking advantages of the situation. She is bragging about how her sugar daddy spoiled her with gifts and trips. It is just sad that these people have kids. I am now thinking to myself, "what's wrong with this world?"

Easy...MYOB! Really, what business is it of yours what two consenting adults are/are not doing (and what conclusive proof do you have that this is even going on?)?
As long as pt. care is not being compromised, focus on your pt. care, not what your co-workers are doing. You were hired to be a nurse, not the morality police.
No, it doesn't.
