  1. I understand what you mean by a clinical nurse position. Do you think that I still will have to work under different doctors like in a hospital settings? Do you think a job like this can help me to get my foot in the "Research" field? If I take this job, I will have to sacrify a 9 to 5, Mon to Friday , no holiday, ambulatory outpatient job. Do you think it is worth it? I have no experience in research but I am really interested. Do you think I will be able to make it with little experience? Thanks for your information!
  2. Thanks for your information. I am not sure if I will get the position. There are a lot of details I will have to ask them in my second interview. I am getting a bit nervous now. It will be great that I can get this position with the 9 to 5 , no weekend deals. Thanks again!
  3. Hi I just had an interview with a pharmaceutical company and this position according to the interviewer is a clinical nurse position. She told me that I have to work in their clinic and monitor volunteers. She said that most volunteers are healthy and they have to stay in the clinic for a period of time for the research. I am wondering if anyone has a similar job to this. If you do, do you work at different shift? Do you have to carry a pager? Do you have to work overtime? Do you like your job? What is the challenging part of your job? Is your job an hourly paid job? What is the hourly rate? Any information will help. Thank!
  4. My friend is looking for HH job recently. She is a 5-year experienced RN but she only has like a few months HH experience. She interviewed with GirXXng HH and they promised to pay her 65,000/yr. I don't know how they calculate the mileague stuff but she did negiotiate to a point that they will let her only work in a particular area that she doesn't have to drive too far. I know there are a lot of HH looking for LVNs and RNs, Can you negiotiate with your boss to try to get you a better location? If I were you, I would not be afraid to negotiate with them because there are a lot of jobs out there! Good luck.
  5. I actually graduated when I was 37. I was pregnant with my second son when I was in my anatomy and physiology class. I think age is not a factor. The most important is you have to ask yourself, can you stand working in the hospital envirnoment? There are a lot of cons working in this field. If I have a second chance I would study radiology or sonography instead of nursing. Nursing is a hard job because you have to listen to the patients as well as the doctors. You have to have thick skin to deal with a lot of nasty mean docs. You have to tolerate long working hours and go without taking a break sometimes. I am in nursing for about 1 year and I am already sick of it. I am not making 65,000 yet but my friend who has been a nurse for 5 years, she is going to get a home health job that promised her 65,000/yr. (but who knows how many days in a week she has to work?) I hate to be negative but you might want to volunteer in a hospital for a few days and see how nurses work. It is not a easy job that's all I want to tell you. Sorry, that I am not helping much.
  6. I am glad that he is not interested in me b/c he one fat baxxer! I am not upset b/c of their relationship. I am upset b/c I think he is always trying to protect her. She always can take extra breaks, do whatever she wants too. It is just not fair.
  7. It really doesn't matter b/c it is not my business. I am just trying to vent.
  8. I don't know. I am just shocked. I know I can stay out of their business but it is so hard to do so. Our place is so small. It is not in a hugh hospital settings, so basically I see these two disguishing faces everyday. I know that this nurse is taking advantages of the situation. She is bragging about how her sugar daddy spoiled her with gifts and trips. It is just sad that these people have kids. I am now thinking to myself, "what's wrong with this world?"
  9. Just found out that one of our nurses (divorced w/ kids) is having an affair w/ a married doc. it is disguishing! what would you do if you were me? I think it is totally unethical to have a work place affair, it just makes me sick to even have to work with these people. Please help and explain to me why people are doing unprofessional things like that?:uhoh21:
