Hey I was wondering who has applied to the Nursing Program @ Nova starting fall 2010?
I would like to know of any updates any one has heard on the process, interviews, etc.
thanks!! best of luck!!
Hey everyone well I found out that 3 people have denied nova as their school of choice so nova is waiting to send out denial letters because not everyone that accepts the offer. Also once you're accepted there are deadlines to be met with payment if payment is not met then you are dropped and they chose the next best candidate. So all those waiting keep that in mind. Most people have opted to start in the winter and not spring as well because once you're accepted you have the choice of either fall or spring term and u state the reason why you are deferring yourself to the next term. Hope this info sheds some light. I spoke to someone in the nursing dept. And they did confirm that this term was the largest and most competitive they've had. 1,011 apps she said. So imagine. I just wanted to share this info just in case. So be positive there's still a chance!!! I would love to see you all in the fall!!! Xoxo prayers are with u
Hey everyone. I had just spoken to an admissions counselor and he told me that I havn't been denied but my application has been deferred for winter term because they have already filled the seats for fall. What does that really mean? I am really confused and don't know what to think. Have I been denied? Is that a nicer way of saying you have been denied?
Tammy I'm glad you were able to receive a straight answer from NOVA...I wonder if the idiots who work there will send out notifications to other people who have gotten deferred...I mean if you hadn't asked then you probably wouldn't have known anything...I haven't received anything as of now..not a yes or a no...my best bet is to start calling 24/7..but considering that they've been pretty rude to others who have called i'm kind of on the fence about calling and peppering them...
Tammy= did the admissions adviser tell you, you were accepted but you had to defer for spring term? Make sure you receive a letter of acceptance otherwise its like you were denied. Because what they could do is "defer your application" and it will be like your reapplying. But if your accepted and your deferring your acceptance then your holding your seat for spring term. Therefore, you may want to clarify. Just a thought. Good luck! :yeah:Also congrats! very exciting news. Alot of us are still pending. I hope it all works out. :0)

I agree with you 100%; I'm terrified to call. So I'm trying to prolong it as long as I can. Good thing jerziana provided all that hopeful information. Now, I can wait a little longer. We may just be those few who are on a waiting list or may be deferred to spring term.- "no news is good news"- trying to live by those words. Good luck to you. Keep you post if I become brave and call, lol.

Jerziana, thanks for the info, it helped me stay a little more positive and hopeful! Also, how much are the "payments" (total)? For example, if I were to get an acceptance letter how much I'm expected to pay? I want to make sure I have it all figured it; IF nova does send me an invitation. Thanks everyone and good luck! I know you are all waiting to hear from your baptist scholar interviews.
Hey giggles and the waiting gang!! Well to be ready if you get accepted you have to in totol of $1,000 before orientation.. Its split up like this: You pay the $500 deposit to hold your spot then July 15th we have to pay $250 for confirmation and then another $250 for a registration fee.. after that we need to pay the rest of the tuition which we dont know yet lol.. i know nova is 18k a year so almost 40 grand in total for the 27 months...
Also besides the Baptist scholars Nova has some other grants and scholarships that you can apply for once your FAFSA is completed and you have sent all the necessary info that they need to star the financial aid for you. They give money if you have a 3.0 and above i am not sure what the amount is since i do not have it in front of me, however they do offer assistance... they also offer direct loans through the university.... its a long and a lot of paperwork is due so just be prepared...
Also my friend also received a call saying that she was deferred for the Winter term, which she said mean that you are in but not for the fall, they are holding your seat for the winter i dont think you need to reapply though they are just placing you in and you either accept or deny.... but remember the ones that are accepted have to make all these payments if we miss them then we are out... unless we spoke to them letting them know.. so be hopeful of that...
Danes, I spoke with the scholars department today and they already wrapped up their final interviews this afternoon! We should know by friday and the latest Tuesday since they need to notify Nova asap so that all the financial aid can be completed and we know how much loans we need to take out.
People just hang in there... remember there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, it just may take longer to get there but it doesnt mean you wont. A lot of nursing schools nowadays have a waiting list....i also still think that if you havent received a denial letter its also due to the fact that we still need to make all our payments before orientation, and most ppl dont have that kind of money... remember that ppl apply without really realizing what the costs are going to be, and the tuition doesnt include books, lab fees or the lab coat or the stethoscope all of that is separate!!!! KILL ME lol... So take that into consideration... If i hear more i will let all of you know and keep me posted as well... im here for support!!! I would also hound them until they know me by my voice already, its ridiculous all of you waiting this long, its already July... HOUND THEM.. its your future not theirs,,, keep your head up and i am sure it will come when you will be a nurse shark =) BIG HUGS
