Hey I was wondering who has applied to the Nursing Program @ Nova starting fall 2010?
I would like to know of any updates any one has heard on the process, interviews, etc.
thanks!! best of luck!!
I spoke to Ashely and she explained to me that the fall term is full and the applicants who have not heard anything should be receiving an email stating that they have an option to withdraw their app or defer it to next term and if they choose to defer to spring, than our application will go to the top of the list for review. She said that the people who were accepted for the fall have next week to make their decisions with their deposits so if any seats open for the fall, nova will go back to their applicant pool for the fall. This is what she explained to me so I'm going to continue to stay positive about nova. Too bad more waiting though
Hi guys!!! Congrats again to those who have been accepted. I have continued to read the thread and have been hopeful for those who are still waiting. This fall term was very different for Nova and one of the most competitive so have I heard. Please continue to stay positive, many people do decided on going to another school because of Nova cost. We have to pay a total of $1000 before orientation and thats not including mandatory health insurance, scrubs, or books. Some people do not have that kind of money handy.
If you do not get accepted this term do not get discouraged apply for spring. Also, try to save money from now and pay off any debt that you have. Nova is REALLY expensive and most will not be able to work while in the program.
Good luck to all!
Hello everyone!
First, I decided to start a thread for all those who have started applying for Nova’s entry level program for spring term of 2011. I figured that most of us will continue on this journey and should start to get know our possible perspective classmates. The thread is named “NSU EntryBSN Spring 2011” :)
Second, all those pending students need to contact the nursing adviser regarding their admission status. Today, I finally spoke to her and I got a lot of useful information; the following occurred:
1.As we all know denial letters were sent out in the past, in the very beginning. If we have not received a denial letter, it’s because we were reviewed and were considered good candidates. However, due to the number of applicants (1,000 +) there were “better” students and the current term (fall of 2010) is full. Therefore, some pending students are given the opportunity to defer their application to the spring term of 2011. Meaning- Their application is going to be transferred to the spring of 2011 pool, waiving the application fee and placing us on top of the list. Understand we have not been accepted, we are going to be “re-considered/re-viewed” along with new pool of applicants.
2.She also explained that the sooner you apply, the better your chances. Nova is now doing a “first come, first serve” regarding application and admissions. Therefore, they are going to start reviewing applications in the order they receive them. All pending applicants contact her regarding this ASAP and find out if you are able to defer; the faster you do it the better your chances. Remember, some students have already started applying. ** “Deferring” your application is the same language as “reapplying” except you don’t have to pay the application fee and you can avoid redoing the entire application because they are going to use the current application.
3.Also, if any current fall student is unable to attend due to failure of payment or any other reason, than nova will consider current pending students to fill that spot (even those pending students who have deferred their application for the spring of 2011)
4.Any pending students who are taking classes this summer should send their official transcripts at the end of the summer term since nova is considering starting reviewing spring term applicants at the end of August!! According to the nursing adviser, they hope to start reviewing spring term applications once they have settled the fall class of 2010.
5.Lastly, Talk to the nursing adviser regarding the above information. No one else knows anything; they will just make you waste your time. First, ask her what the status of your admission is. Remember, everyone has a different story; yours may be better than mine. Then, if she doesn’t give you information ask her about the option to defer your application.
I hope this information was helpful. Today, I deferred my application for the spring of 2011 term. If any of you need anything please email or send me a private message. Keep us posted. I really hope I get to meet you all soon!! Good luck to all of us who are still in limbo.

How is the BSN entry level program at Nova Southeastern University?
and the the link is: How is the BSN entry level program at Nova Southeastern University? - Nursing for Nurses
THANK YOU!! & No, I applied as soon as the term was available! The acceptance states Winter 2011 not spring so do get confused if you get your acceptance letter and it states Winter but yeah I am super excited!
lol. I probably confused everyone! lol. what I mean by spring term is the SPRING SEMESTER which is equivalent to WINTER TERM. The program will start January of 2011. lol. Regardless, Congrats! hope to join you. Also, you should add your info and acceptance to the thread: "NSU EntryBSN Spring 2010"
