Hello Nursing applicants, I wanted to start a thread for us nursing students who will have to take the the TEAS Exam soon. It doesn't matter what school your going to, or what type of nursing program you applied to. I thought maybe we could share study tips and help encourage each other and hopefully, we will all get the score that we need so that we can get accepted into the nursing school we want to attend. I need at least a minimum score of 71 percent to be competitive for acceptance in the RN program I applied to. I take my test next week November the 6th. I have been studying for about three weeks now. My study guides are the ATI study guide, Secrets to TEAS V Study guides. I also have the Mcgraw- Hill 5 test book. I also purchased the ATI Test and will take the first online practice exam this wednesday. Please share what your doing to prepare, how your dealing with the test anxiety, and if you already successfully taken it what did you do to get the score you wanted. Good luck everyone!
Ok, just got back from taking the TEAS V for the first time!
I did take three practice exams (two online, one in the book) and used the ATI TEAS V study book. Don't do anymore research, just go and get it. Pay for the online exams. Just do it. Seriously, don't think I could have done anywhere close to what I did without those tools. I never made a high enough score, just off by a couple percents, in the practice exams. I went in today with the attitude that I'd just go and do my best and see where that leaves me. I did feel like the time was barely enough for most of the sections, so don't dwell on anything too long.
My program requires a 75% overall, 85% reading, and 70% math to be eligible to apply for nursing school.
I got an 83.3% overall, 88.1% reading (YAY!!), 93.3% math, 68.8% science, and an 86.7% english.
To say that I'm happy would be a gross understatement. I hope it ends up being high enought to get in, but at the very least it is high enough to apply! WHOOOHOOO!!!
Good luck everyone!

Congrats!!!
hi CJIPN2017, I am taking it on the 11th of dec 2014 which is next week! I been studying my *** off. Please tell me how it goes and try to remember some of the questions for me ! I wish best of luck to you
Everyone so far on this Thread that has scored high has said that the ATI book and ractice exams are the way to go. Go to your local library and see if they have it. Good Luck to you.
I somehow managed to schedule my TEAS right in the middle of finals (and the day after my 21st birthday lol!)
I didn't leave enough time to study and now I'm sort of freaking out. I took a practice exam in a McGrawHill book and made a 79%. I took one ati online practice test and made a 76%. It's really just the science portion that's the problem... The biology questions seem really detailed, so they're a hit or miss for me. I haven't taken anatomy yet, so I've been up all night trying to teach myself all the basics. And I don't even want to talk about earth science or physics...
So my question is,
I recently changed my academic plan and I have an extra year to take the TEAS. If I don't show up today, does it count as one of my attempts? Are there any negative consequences? I know I have to repay to reschedule but I think paying $80 is better than failing!
Also, I bought the ati study package the other day. Does the study manual come in the mail, and if so, about how long does it take?
I know I'm sort of a mess, please forgive me guys. Test is in 5 hours so I'm crossing my fingers that somebody will reply soon!
I took my teas this week and though I only got a 71% (I need atleast a 78% for my program) I feel better about taking it again because the test was a lot easier then the online practice test like you guys said. I scored the lowest in reading which is crazy because I've always been really good in reading. Logical inferences were what tripped me up, and the similarities of two options for the main idea :/ I just couldn't figure out which was the best option. Science was random but not that difficult to me, the TEAS book helped but I got a lot of earth questions instead of things that I really studied for like mitosis meiosis, DNA, RNA etc; it was vey odd, so I just did the best I could (I got a 72% in that section). My only hope is that next time I don't get a really hard form of the test, regardless I'm gonna study my butt off this month so I can take it early January. I hope I can get well above the requirement for my school! If you guys have any tips on how I can increase my score in reading I'd appreciate it :)

I am sorry I am just now seeing this. It should not count against you. You could not have just canceled the exam and not have been charged for it? Yes the study manual comes in the mail. Good Luck to you :).

I would say to go over the areas on your ATI print out. At least you get to retake it. Good Luck to you:D.
