Hello Nursing applicants, I wanted to start a thread for us nursing students who will have to take the the TEAS Exam soon. It doesn't matter what school your going to, or what type of nursing program you applied to. I thought maybe we could share study tips and help encourage each other and hopefully, we will all get the score that we need so that we can get accepted into the nursing school we want to attend. I need at least a minimum score of 71 percent to be competitive for acceptance in the RN program I applied to. I take my test next week November the 6th. I have been studying for about three weeks now. My study guides are the ATI study guide, Secrets to TEAS V Study guides. I also have the Mcgraw- Hill 5 test book. I also purchased the ATI Test and will take the first online practice exam this wednesday. Please share what your doing to prepare, how your dealing with the test anxiety, and if you already successfully taken it what did you do to get the score you wanted. Good luck everyone!
So I was stressing because I thought the average at my school was 86%. Well I just looked again and it was 80.6% Phew. That makes me feel better. 10 days. I am 3/4 of the way done with science in the book. I've gone through and transferred all of the important parts of the book into a smaller notebook I can carry with me to study anywhere.
Congrats on your score! That's amazing honestly that your above average cause I just took practice test B and my over all score was a 60%it was so difficult to me and I have been studying so much you can only imagine my disappointment. My question for you is did u feel like there were a lot of chemical reaction questions in the science part? What do u think I should focus my study time more towards in regards to that section? Were there a lot math based questions in your reading section or were there more questions about the passage? That stuff really slowed me down. Also in the math did you feel like u were running out of time due to the level of difficulty of the questions? cause during the practice test I always felt like I was running out of time ugh! I know this a lot of questions lol sorry it's just that I take my test next week and I'm kinda freaking out, any response will be much appreciated. I feel really let down by my most recent score so I'm hoping that studying the book more and getting more insight will prepare me for this test.
How did you do on your TEAS?? I hope really well!! :)
I took the TEAS last week and got an 86.1% adjusted. I'm pretty upset and thinking of retaking it, even though my advisor told me it isn't necessary. :-(I used the ATI study guide, practice tests, and McGraw hill guide and practice tests. I studied for MONTHS.
That's a great score! Why do you think it's bad? I was THRILLED for my 81.3%!

That was a great score. I am sorry I have been MIA but I had my college algebra math final. Math has been my hardest subject. I also did not get a spot in my nursing program as of yet but I became an alternate. It sucks but this test is so important to get into your program even with straight A's. I will take a Spanish course in the winter to boost my points up. This school has an excellent reputation and I don't want to go anywhere else. The lesson learned from all of this is not to give up. Good luck teas takers.
