November/ December 2014 TEAS Exam Takers

Nursing Students TEAS

Published

Hello Nursing applicants, I wanted to start a thread for us nursing students who will have to take the the TEAS Exam soon. It doesn't matter what school your going to, or what type of nursing program you applied to. I thought maybe we could share study tips and help encourage each other and hopefully, we will all get the score that we need so that we can get accepted into the nursing school we want to attend. I need at least a minimum score of 71 percent to be competitive for acceptance in the RN program I applied to. I take my test next week November the 6th. I have been studying for about three weeks now. My study guides are the ATI study guide, Secrets to TEAS V Study guides. I also have the Mcgraw- Hill 5 test book. I also purchased the ATI Test and will take the first online practice exam this wednesday. Please share what your doing to prepare, how your dealing with the test anxiety, and if you already successfully taken it what did you do to get the score you wanted. Good luck everyone!

I just finished my second online ATI practice exam and scored a 73.3%. I went from a 61 to 73 percent. I only have one more day before my test on Wednesday. I need at least a 71 percent for 80 overall points. They go by the point system. Some of that chemistry stuff like balancing chemical equations I find difficult. I am reviewing only the ATI manual now. Thanks LoyalWeim.

I take the TEAS next Friday and I am so nervous! I have been studying for a while now with the ATI manual and have taken notes on all of the science topics, along with watching review videos on YouTube. I made sure to schedule my test early enough so if I need to retake it I can in January (the school I'm applying to requires 60 days in between tests). I'll be sure to keep you guys updated with my scores ! I take my first practice test Wednesday and the second next Monday. Then I figure I'll have time to review whatever topics I'm still iffy on before my test day !

Good luck everyone !

I know it's hard but try not to stress.

I brought my score up over 10 percent by reviewing with the ATI studyguide. I take my test this Wednesday.

It all depends on the program you're applying to. For example my program goes by a point system. They accept 80 students per semester the cut off is at 75 points, but we were told 80 points guarantee you a spot in the program. I am at 55 points pre TEAS. 71 to 77 percent on the TEAS is 30 points, 78 to 88 is 35 points. We have to get a score of 62 percent which is considered passing. Know the stats of the school you want to go to. I hope I answered your question.

How do I find out the stats? My school I applied to just said u need above a 70 in math and 75 in reading...

If you scored a 73.3% on the online ATI practice test, then my guess is that you scored pretty well today- I hope! I mean that online test was brutal. Did you score above 80% on the real test?

I hope that you did well, QueenWandaful!

LW

I took the test today, but I will not know my results until tomorrow after 4:30pm. I thought that the real test was a lot easier. The reading passages were longer though. I will let you guys know when I get my results.

I scored only 66 percent which is passing. That puts me at 75 points which is hopefully enough to get me in the program. We are not allowed to retest.
