November 2010 Air Force Board Selections

Published

I just heard from my recruiter today that the board had made their selections! He told me they were now confirming COT dates, matching up selects with assignments, and verifying credentials, etc. He told me they had not released the list as of yet but he expected to know in the next two weeks. He told me the best case scenario would be that I was fully selected and given an assignment and COT date, the next best scenario would be being selected as an alternate and getting a slot for 2012, and the worst scenario would be being a "non-select" and not being allowed to resubmit an application to the AF:(. I hope we all hear good news in the next two weeks. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Hello everyone, Congratulations! I was wondering if all of you are new applicants for the April 29 NTP boards? Or are you all alternates from the last board selection? I am still waiting to find out if I am selected for the April boards. I read these comments and the ones on facebook, and I called my recruiter to see if he got any news, and he emailed HQ, and they said, "AFRISS-R is down and no NTP results have been released yet." He thought it was strange when I told him about everyone getting notice, and he was wondering where you all are from? I am in Hawaii, and I am anxious about finding out.

Yah.... I'm glad you all got your results back and will be in August Cot with me. I'm going to Andrews.. that was my 1st choice... Was Kessler your 1st choice?

Superman07, we are from the fully quilified board that was in November. This was a long and draining process but well worth it. You'll get your results soon regarding if your selected or on an alternate list. Hopefully you'll be with us thats in the August COT

@Fly-fight-Win: Are you going to August Cot with us as well?

Found out yesterday that I will be going to Keesler. I'm very happy to finally have a COT date but a little disappointed with the assignment. Keesler was not one of my five choices. My recruiter pretty much said that if I didn't accept the assignment I would be back to the waiting and potentially could lose the sign on bonus. I am glad to see others of you are also going to Keesler. At least I will know someone there! Congrats to everyone as we cross into the blue!

W2cross2blue.. What was your choices? Your going to a critical care unit right?

I am emergency department specialty. I was hoping for Travis, Eglin, Langley, or Andrews, however, Keesler does have its perks. We will not be as far from family and friends, all the base housing is brand new thanks to Hurricane Katrina, and you have Gulf Shores and Destin to the east and New Orleans to the west!

Congrats everyone!!! the waiting was worth it. does anyone know anything about travis afb? i've tried to google some but all I get is an old pic of the hospital and youtube videos about how fairfield (the closest town) is in economic ruins

babieblue2 - I can't say that I know much about the base, hopefully some others will chime in, but Travis really isn't that far from the bay area and there are some nice things out there. There are definitely areas that were hit hard with the downturn, but that means cost of living is also down. Vacaville has some good outlet stores and Davis is a little way up the road which I think is a great town. Sacramento is a little further. It all depends on what you are looking for, but there are some good places around Fairfield!
