I just heard from my recruiter today that the board had made their selections! He told me they were now confirming COT dates, matching up selects with assignments, and verifying credentials, etc. He told me they had not released the list as of yet but he expected to know in the next two weeks. He told me the best case scenario would be that I was fully selected and given an assignment and COT date, the next best scenario would be being selected as an alternate and getting a slot for 2012, and the worst scenario would be being a "non-select" and not being allowed to resubmit an application to the AF:(. I hope we all hear good news in the next two weeks. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
I am hoping to get August COT because thats what my recruiter told me that I'll more likely get if i dont take the open slot for May COT. So for now, I'm preparing my mind and finances until then. I know that when we get to COT we need to expect not getting paid for at least a month.
I know that one of the members on here Carolinapooh has alot of great things to read up on to prepare yourself for cot. I also think she had a list of useful things to bring to cot.
I went to COT last May and am now happily deployed. I remember and enjoy your excitement. The best thing to pack is a good attitude - I lost mine the last 2 weeks and it hurt me and my flight. I wish I could redo it, but I can at least learn from it.
Do your best at PT, but don't freak out about it. I also highly suggest running on the track on any downtime while at COT - it is the one place I felt like I could relax and talk freely, so even if you just walk it, go there! lol
Talked to my recruiter today and he said they had not released to him any new information about requirements for FY2012. As always, he told me "when I hear something you will be the first to know". I think he will probably be happy to wash his hands of me when I finally get to go! So now for more waiting, then waiting, and then waiting a little more...ugg.
Is what everyone is talking about on the end of this thread have anything to do with the upcoming July/August fully qualified board selection? I have my packet completed and at the AF recruiting office right now for a fully qualified mental health position and have not heard any new news. My recruiter did say I should be patient until late July but that there was a possibility that I may hear some news before then.

I got a few calls yesterday from my recruiter and it's confirmed.. I've been selected officially and my cot date will be August 22nd.. I'm excited now and a bit Scared about the unknown.. Well if there is anyone going to that COT date please let me know... Yahhhhhh!!!! Finally things are starting to go through.. Now I have to find a way to let my manager know I'm leaving.. Smh!! Did anyone else hear anything yet? I think everyone who were on the alternate list should have heard something by now.. I would be on top of the recruiter and let them know that othr people are getting their infomations about their status!!!

Too bad you won't be going in may, tee_byrd. You think you might still go in august at this point?
I'm mildly freaking out about the PT. I think I can do ok on the pushups and running but doing that many situps in 1 minute is really hard ... you just have to go so fast. My wife told me when she did COT most people were super worried about pushups but actually struggled the most with the situps.
As far as all the other preparations... I don't really have anything. Gonna hit up AAFES this week to start getting my uniforms together.
Anyone have a suggestion on an appropriate way to recognize/thank my recruiter for his efforts?
