Nova Southeastern University Entry-Level BSN Program

Published

hello,

i have a few questions for nova southeastern university (davie, fl campus) current nursing students and alumni.

i was told that there is an interview process; i would like to know what the interview process is like?

what questions are being asked?

how you are being evaluated?

how many people are in the room?

what kind of setting/environment does it take place in?

also.. would you say this school is difficult to get accepted in? what kid of students are they looking for (academically)? any tips &/or suggestions?

xoxo

Congrats too everyone that was already accepted!! :yeah: thts AWESOME! waiting on the final decision is really taking a toll on me but like one said, we have to be positive...i turned in my application in April/may hopefully i hear something soon!

I'll continue to stay positive/pray for all of us who obviously really want this...:nurse:

Hi guys,

Im applying for the Jan 2011 program and i wanted to know if anyone has applied and with what gpa...im very nervous and it is emotionally exhausting because this program is so competitive. I have a 3.4 and an AA in nursing... I just finished MDC and wants to know if anyone has been accepted? I just want to get accepted already..

Thanks

I got into the Fort Myers campus with a 3.0 and an AA. I'm not going to be able to start though because my mom was involved in a serious accident and I won't have a job when I start and also Nova wasn't trying to help me figure out what I need to do financially. Good luck!

KGB, I'm sooo sorry to hear that and I truly WiSh you And your mom the best. The people that work for nova can be very unhelpful at times...Dis you try speaking with mr Franco from fort myers?

Yes. I had e-mailed him about it but he e-mailed me back with a poster that shows the financial aid process. Which had the arrows saying to fill out the paper work and accept monies, etc. I had gotten a couple stafford loans but for some reason I didn't get the full amount that I should be allotted. But I guess they had factored in the job that I have now and after I move down there, I won't have it. And that loans barely even dented the total amount I had to come up with. So that was extremely depressing.

I also e-mailed the financial aid department at the main campus and I broke down my COA and explained to them my situation and they sent me back an e-mail breaking down my COA as I had and didn't offer any help. So that was quit frustrating. I was really looking forward to going this fall.

boo13812002,

i am applying for jan 2011 also. i turned in the app on august 9, 2010, and haven't heard "acceptance" news yet. i have received 4 confirmation emails so far, indicating that they received my transcripts, essays, etc. ashley odland replied to my email saying that we won't hear anything until october 1st.

i applied for jan 2009 once before, and was accepted with a 3.6 gpa. my 2 friends were also accepted with a 3.4 and 3.5 gpa. we all survived a grueling 5 hour interview. due to various reasons, i turned down nsu in jan 2009 and went to broward college to pursue the asn instead (whoops). now, i am re-applying the 2nd time with a 3.2 gpa. meanwhile, my 2 friends who started jan 2009 are thriving at nova. they are now semester 6 students! (7 semesters total).

good news: nova will no longer conduct interviews as of jan 2011!

if anyone hear anything from nova, pls post!

Hey TIANdMOE !!!

well I had applied June 6,2010 and I received my acceptance letter last week =] so it took me about 3 months which sucks cause its a waiting game =/ just try to stay positive and im sure everything will be alright; keep me posted on your progress :)

BTW are you applying to Davie or Kendall?

Boo,

Interesting...

You applied in June, and got accepted in Sept; Jennifer023 applied August 13, and got accepted within 3 weeks; and Karinat applied June 11, got accepted by July 8.

I guess it's all different for everyone (not so much on a first come first served basis, or which campus the applicant had selected).

Since you had to wait 3 months, I can relax now!!! Since I applied August 16th, I guess I wont hear back until October then. Let's hope for the best.

BTW - I applied to Davie.

Specializes in Icu.

Yes it's so different because I applied in April.. I was deffered to winter term and was accepted in august for the winter term.

yeah it was definetly a long wait for me =/ but ashley had told me that since I had classes in progress maybe thats why it took so long but im sure you will get in =] keep me posted on your progress let me know if you have any questions...

BTW the best way in getting your questions answered is by email ashley odland; she responds the same day

:nurse:

I was accepted in Jan 2009. I applied the very last day to apply which was oct 1 2008 and interviewed on November 5th. I received the acceptance letter a few weeks later. I hear that now they have a lot more applicants now so its probably why its taking a while. But they are not conducting interviews anymore. I wish you the best! Good luck!

question for current nova students! does nova look at your overall GPA? Science GPA? or Pre- Reqs GPA? or all of them ? any input would help :)
