Nova Southeastern University Entry-Level BSN Program

Published

hello,

i have a few questions for nova southeastern university (davie, fl campus) current nursing students and alumni.

i was told that there is an interview process; i would like to know what the interview process is like?

what questions are being asked?

how you are being evaluated?

how many people are in the room?

what kind of setting/environment does it take place in?

also.. would you say this school is difficult to get accepted in? what kid of students are they looking for (academically)? any tips &/or suggestions?

xoxo

(~_~)Whooopi I got accepted into Fort Myers Nova nursing for fall 2011......I got my acceptance through emailand on the VIP page, now Im waiting for my package in the mail. I'm gonna need all the help I can get from anybody who knows how to proceed from there. Anybody whos going to fort myers campus hit me up. I live in broward county and will be moving up in fort myers b4 school start; so any advice on apts and houses for rent over there? Plus I probably be looking for a roommate so get with me if anyone is interested.....I'm looking forward to meeting all my future classmates ;-)

CONGRATS! I can't help much on the housing issue. I have lived on FMB for 2 years and I stay there most of the time lol. When you get your packet, just take one thing at a time and follow the directions. Anything you do not understand, call the numbers they provide you. They are all nice and ready to help you. Make sure you do the background check (do not pay for it, even if it ask, because NOVA pays for that.) and set up your health magnus account. Remember one thing at a time. Can't wait to meet you. I am a Fort Myers acceptie also YAY!.

Thanks Carla!

I might just go ahead and accept Ft. Myers spot....I don't want to risk it! Any suggestions on where to live in Fort Myers? I have never been there..

Mia

hey Mia,

you should because you dont want to waste time if you really want to start now. I dont believe there is any difference in the department ment that your talking about. It is still the same school. The difference is only in the amount of students in each campus, and of course the main campus would be the most ideal but it would be hard to get in there withouth at least a 3.4 GPA, most of the ppl I know Who I got in have a 3.6 GPA or more. It is also the most convenient and bigger Campus. A lot of people are not willing to locate or cannot relocate to go to the othe campus, and sometimes think that the other campus might not be up to par like the main one, but thats not true. A friend of mines mother in law used to teach nursing at the Kendall campus and later moved to the main campus when she got a new promotion. She said that they are all the same except for minor things obviously but none of them affect the teaching or the equipment available for students at each campus. Its a private school and they would not open a campus if it was not going to match the original one, because you should be able to transfer from one campus to another withing a school with no problem because everything should be the same no matter where you go if they have the program available. i myself did not care which campus I get into but I didnt want to deal with Miami traffic or live in miami so therefore chose fort myers, not only its cheaper to live up there but also, less distraction so its perfect place to concentrate on school especially nursing. i think you should accept the fort myers spot, the sooner you start, the sooner you can finish and graduate.....That is the ultimate goal eventually so good luck.

Thank you for your post ladeesse! I think I will take your advice and accept :) See you in the Fall on campus :)

hi i just got accepted on the waiting list, for davie and miami as well, and offered a seat in ft myers. i ownder how many people get this letter? and when should we let them know by. i dont want to accept the seat then be accepted to miami or davie. i live in boca, and would have to relocate , so possibly looking for a roomate as well!

Hey,

Anybody going to fort myers campus and wanting a roomate, let me know because i'm looking for one too.....email me at [email protected]

Specializes in Icu.

So theres a waiting list???

I have recently been accepted into NOVA's kendall campus for entry level BSN nursing....I didn't have an interview. We had to write an essay on why you want to be a nurse, but no interview. Hope this helps :)

Hey guys,

I am new to this forum. I just got a letter from NSU stating that main campus and kendal are all full for Entry-level bsn, but that I can still go to Ft. Myers.

Does any on know if Ft. Myers program is as good as Miami/Kendal? I just don't want to be stuck in the program with no equipment and unqualified professors....

Also does any one know what are my chances of getting into the Miami program (I was placed on waiting list)? Do you hear of a lot of people rejecting their offers?

Thank you so much!!!!!

Hi! I just applied to NOVA (Apr) and I received my acceptance package in May....I applied to Miami kendall campus. That is strange that there is a waiting list. I thought the reason I was accepted so fast was because they just recently started offering the nursing program at thier kendall campus and not too many people knew to apply there. If you want pointers on how to get in I have a few.....I think I know what really grabbed there attention. Let me know if you are interested...thanks!

To anyone planning to move to fort myers for the fall entry nursing program at Nova, and looking for a roommate. I am looking to rent a house between the 800 to 950 a month range and would like to know if anybody is interested in being my roommate and split it. I want to have a nice, descent place that is also in a safe area. It will probably be a 3bed/2bath/2car garage, hopefully with a pool. I plan to move in on August 1st, so I could be ready and situated before school starts. If anyone is interested and serious about it, hit me up at [email protected].

Hi everyone! Congrats to everyone who has gotten accepted. :) I plan to apply for spring 2012. For those who are accepted can you please share your gpa. Also, do you have any pointers? I am so nervous about applying. :(

thanks!

Hi!

I was accepted...my gpa is 3.46. I think what really helped me get in was the fact that I volunteered at a hospital. Hope this info helps!!
