hello,
i have a few questions for nova southeastern university (davie, fl campus) current nursing students and alumni.
i was told that there is an interview process; i would like to know what the interview process is like?
what questions are being asked?
how you are being evaluated?
how many people are in the room?
what kind of setting/environment does it take place in?
also.. would you say this school is difficult to get accepted in? what kid of students are they looking for (academically)? any tips &/or suggestions?
xoxo

First of all CONGRATULATIONS!!! Listen I have to be honest with you DON'T do LPN. Because it's a waste
of time and money. Take the opportunity that you have on your hands now!!! I know dad's oppition is important
but understand that you are in one of the best Nursing Schools.
Now I have a friend that started at NOVA (Davie Campus) and she did not have much money. She got the STAMFORD LOAN. These loans are GOVERMENT LOANS with low interest, anyone can qualify for those loans despite your credit history and you pay them back after graduation.
Listen you have to go and speak with financial aid they will help you. And don't forget do it you have such
of a great opportunity in your hands now!!!

Congrats! Your officially a shark!!! How exciting:yeah:
Hearing so many people getting accepted is getting me really anxious. I applied at the end of Feb and have yet to hear anything
If you don't mind me asking what is your GPA, I ask everyone that gets accepted because my GPA is not high. I have a 3.4 and I have a W in micro. lab. Did you have any any W's? C's?
Again congrats! Hope to join you in school :)
Thanks!
Yeah my gpa dropped a lot. I took between 14-17 credits a semester plus I worked 40+ hours in the pharmacy. My gpa was a 3.0. I had mostly A's and B's in my classes, except A&P I & II I got 78 & 79 so that was super depressing. And due to a car wreck this semester my stats grade also dropped to a C. I only had two W's. One was in Principles of Biology which I was taking when I was a pre-pharmacy major and Microbiology. I had tried taking micro a couple of summers ago with a professor who we couldn't understand and it was also a 6 week class....why I did it...I don't know. I dropped it with a 68 cause I knew I'd lose my scholarship with a C in the summer. This past term I got a B without really much effort. I wish I had put more effort in my classes so that I could have possibly had a better chance at other schools. I've just been praying a lot about it all and I feel extremely blessed.
Good luck!
You are extremely blessed and should be really proud!
I also have mostly A's and B's but I did get a C in micro and I have a W in the micro lab. I had to drop the lab because, I work full time and my schedule changed and I was having a hard time in the class.
I hope you enjoy your accomplishment

Hey ZDream- Im getting nervous too.I too have a 3.4 and I'm still waiting to hear from Nova. I guess we have to keep waiting.
Yes, unfortunatelyI applied to Davie campus and also the Ft. Myers. Hopefully I get accepted in to the Davie campus because I live in Doral which is far from Davie as it is. What campus did you apply to?
Davie/ Ft. lauderdale. I work for Baptist so I really want to go for the baptist scholars!! but like you said its becoming discouraging. I am also becoming a little anxious ( can someone say tachycardia- just kidding). But If I have to move to Ft. Myers I guess I will... I just to be a nurse, How I get there doesn't matter to me- just that I get there.
So true, that's why I applied to both. Even if I have to move or commute which Ill hate
Aww. It's ok. I know this whole application process has been extremely emotionally draining for everyone. Hopefully we will all receive good news soon. Like someone previous said, I am glad we have each other to get through this. I can't imagine the bonds some of us with create in the program. :0) although this has been difficult at times, it has also been a positive experience. I have learned that there are some people who actually care about other people and people who really care about trying to do good. And if "a nursing committee" doesn't see it through our transcripts; I'm glad we have gotten to see it through this blog. I never thought random strangers would try beyond doubt to provide words of encouragement for others to read or provide advice to other fellow students who are at "competition" for the same "desired" program. In the end, we have the heart of a nurse- Continue in our paths and one day we will be licensed.
Does any one have any "new" news from Nova on the applications? Like how many spots are left? or anything?? I'm getting worried....
Nope. All I know there is a new adviser for nursing, her name is ashely! I called to speak to my old adviser regarding my application and they told me that he is no longer the nursing adviser. That I would need to talk ashely... that is the only update I got because ashely was in a meeting
