Hello everyone!
I applied to Nova's Entry Level BSN program today for Fall 2012 semester and thought it may be helpful to start up a forum.
If you are:
currently applying or plan on applying, a former applicant, a current student, I'd love to hear from you!
Has everyone finished their perquisites? Does anyone else have a not so competitive GPA (like me)? Does anyone know who is considered a competitive applicant? Where is everyone else applying?
I look forward to speaking with everyone and hopefully entering the Fall '12 class together!

Teontaylor: I simply dnt understand there acceptance ratios. There are people in the program who got in wit 3.2's and had all A's in the sciences. And u have a good gpa with all A's in the sciences and they have turned u down once before.… just rediculous. Definitely agree they should higher more teachers.
Just got out!!! I thought I did very well....here is all the info I can give:
the questions others posted are the same i had
they are interviewing until the middle of june, so if you didn't get an email don't give up!
they told us acceptance letters would go out a week after our interview as well and rejection letters HOWEVER if you don't receive either that means you are on hold and either they are waiting for grades or they are waiting to compare you to other interviewees..
be yourself!! and dress appropriately!!! JEANS aren't ok!!!!
anyone who had their interview hear anything yet??
oh and they also told us a solid gpa is between a 3.0 and 3.5.....
Samiam I sure hope you are correct as far as interviews going on through June. When I called and spoke to somebody they said something about May 10th is either the last date for interviews or the last date they will send out emails for interviews. 3.0-3.5 might be solid in most cases but in this case...hell a 3.0 may as well be a 1.0 because it doesn't seem like Either GPA is getting in. 3.5 I thought was good but so far...it seems that is the bottom of the totem pole. The questions I have heard others post don't seem like questions to use to weed out applicants. How can you make a judgement I wonder, based on a single question about being a fictional character. Seems almost like this is a reality TV show and we are all unaware of it...either that or we are being Punk'd.
Well the guy who have us our tour who is I charge of the letters going out said they were interviewing until mid-June. The questions they ask aren't really there to judge is or help them see how good of a nurse we might be. They are random weird questions that are meant to catch us off guard so they can see how we react and communicate in such a situation. You can't be prepared for everything in nursing so I think this is one way they can decipher who can thin on their toes and react quickly but intelligently.
I had my interview at main campus ( but when I filled out my application I clicked that I would attend any campus). There are 5 questions- one for each interviewee. They were why type of tree, what fictional character, how would you help people trapped in an elevator, what would you do I you saw someone cheating on an exam, and how would you help a shy child make friends.
My best advice is to practice. However, DO NOT be too prepared. You don't want to come off as someone who reheorificed questions or a being fake. I think that was my problem with my interview at UNF. I was so prepared that I sounded reheorificed and they didn't get to see the real me. Be yourself, smile, and make eye contact.
Good luck and everyone keep us updated !!
