Not bad ... Chamberlain RN-BSN update!

Published

So my admissions advisor succeeded in getting me the maximum credits for my general ed. classes. She's awesome! They accepted my statistics, which meant they waived the algebra requirement. They also accepted my AP English credits and my Honors Comp credits to fulfill all English requirements. So, just as I wanted, I don't have to repeat any courses! I do have to take Econ (blech) and an upper-level Soc class (diversity in the professions) in addition to the nursing classes (7 courses/24 credits). I also have to find a 2-credit class to go with all that because they require students to take at least 32 credits with them to earn the BSN, but there is apparently a 2-credit computer class I can take to cover that.

I also did a cost comparison spreadsheet (yes, another spreadsheet, stop laughing at me!) and it turns out that the RN-BSN programs I'm interested in would be nearly the same price, in the end. The other schools would require more classes at a reduced per-credit-hour rate, so it all shakes out to about the same cost for an RN-BSN.

So it looks like Chamberlain is the winner! :D I'm really excited!!

ok ok ...lol i just want you to take some time for yourself. your so busy with work and now spreadsheets too...lol it is very smart of you to use your funds wisely. i wish i had a employer contribution i just finished paying for my cpne last week:yeah:.... i should not be the one to talk i have not taken a semester off since well i really dont remember....but i do know this i have my bsn program narrowed down to 2 programs:typing ,texas tech and utmb...i already did my dirty work. i will probably go with utmb since i want to do the online gnp there....good luck to you october is right around the corner.:wink2:

the end of october. and before you say, "i told you so, where is that 5 or 6 months off..." :D ... the reason i want to start in 2008 is so that i can use up my annual allotment of education $$$ from work before the start of the new year in january; otherwise i'd lose the entire $3k for 2008. i paid for cpne in 2007, and that was the last expense my employer covered. so i still have $3k just sitting there, waiting to be used; my employer pays up-front, before courses start.

wow, utmb looks like a great program for gnp. thanks for posting this. that is the field i hope to pursue.....eventually.

I'm so glad they're taking them, Lunah! Gawd, I do not want to and will not take soph English. I totally understand your glee at getting the nonsense waived.

Congrats on a successful search! Thanks for sharing all of your research! That is so awesome that they are waiving College Algebra. Economics is not that bad. I really enjoyed it but maybe I'm weird. :specs:

Lunah,

You've probably already mentioned this. You know I have short term insanity. Will Chamberlain accept EC's Micro and A&P?
