I have applied for the Spring also and i was told that the letters would go out in the 1st or 2nd week of Nov. That is just what ****** told me.

What was your scores? If you don't mind sharing. I have 20 ACT, highschool level on my NET, and a 4.0 GPA.

Yeah, I called the other day and they told me the same thing. I have a 24 on ACT, 76 on NET, and 4.0 GPA.

I am so anxious to get the letter!!!

Are you taking classes now? What are you taking?

I am currently taking Micro at the DeSoto campus. I have the highest grades in my class. 100 average. I really want to get in this Spring but then I don't because I can start taking my BSN pre-reqs if I don't get in because I am done with all my RN's pre-reqs. But I have a huge feeling that I will not get in because there is alot of higher scores than mine. I know for a fact that you will get in with those kind of scores. I have retaken my ACT 3 times but the last time I took I was on my way and got a migrane, which I have suffered from since I was 9, and that really messed me up with all that pain. I wil probably retake it if I don't get in, which I probably will not. Good luck!!!

hi everyone! i hope to be in the rn program with ya'll in january. i just called today and was told that the letters would be mailed out the end of oct. or early nov. i was told that there were 250+ applicants for the 70 slots in the january class. i wouldn't play those odds in vegas!! i have a 26 act and 82 net . . . i hope that holds up. has anyone heard what the avg. score is that gets in? thanks for any info you may have! :paw:

I don't know what the average score that gets in is but when I found out my score the lady told me the average score was a 66. Now I'm even more anxious about that letter! Do they send a letter to everyone, even if you don't get in?

we were told on test day that they only send letters to the ones that made it into the program. that has me more than a little stressed as the mail in hl is less than prompt at times. i have received a letter more than 30 days after it was mailed! not meaning to slam them but geeeez!

i think the waiting is more difficult than the stress of testing. i guess it will be worth it if we get in! i'm trying to stay positive but am also afraid to get my hopes up. :paw:

For those of you already in nursing school-any tips to prepare ourselves for what's to come? What is the one thing you said "Man, I wish I would have known that before I started?"

For those of you already in nursing school-any tips to prepare ourselves for what's to come? What is the one thing you said "Man, I wish I would have known that before I started?"

When I first started, I wish someone had explained to me how much extra time would be dedicated to nursing besides just clinical and lecture. You spend hours each day studying, you have pharmacology to practice, skills to practice, videos to watch outside of class, computer time to complete outside of class. The night before clinical you spend several hours at the hospital getting patient info from the charts that you can barely read, writing down every lab, every procedure, etc....then go home to write out all your medication information for each drug (class, action, route, purpose for that pt, side effects, and nursing interventions), what each lab means for your patient, and the pathophysiology for their condition....iron your uniform, pack all your clinical paperwork..etc. And DON'T get me started on careplans...sheesh. First semester was the most challenging because you had to develop time management skills. After that, the information gets a little more difficult but the time management becomes ingrained within your brain.

I also wish someone would have told me to keep my mouth shut about my grades. Nursing school is very competitive and some people will DESPISE you if you score even two points higher, or treat you inferior if you score lower. Bottom line, keep your grades to yourself.

That's all I can think of right now. Hope that gives you something to think about.
