  1. You should be fine. I believe the nln is 10%. Good Luck!
  2. bicster do you have any helpful hints...or things you wish you had known when you started?
  3. I was thinking about buying a pda or phone with a nursing dictionary etc. on it and wanted to make sure it would be ok to use it in class. Since we will have so many textbooks, I thought it would make it a lot better to have at least one or two on a pda. I think the iphone has some nursing applications that you can purchase but I'm not sure how much they would cost. Do you like your iphone? I was looking at a blackberry or iphone but don't know enough about either one yet to make a purchase.
  4. Great story!! Thanks for sharing!
  5. HA!! I thought I was the only one!! At first itzcecile got on my nerves the way she talks but now I hate to admit it but I'm kind of addicted. She had some great study tips. I will definitely be purchasing a giant calendar for this fall. I also like Hannah Demarco very informative on how nursing school really is...
  6. I suppose it would depend on what you were in the hospital for...severe trauma-the med, having a baby-baptist, but then methodist is good for delivery too, st. francis is kinda iffy all the way around, not sure I would want to be there. I've known people that have had bad experiences there.
  7. Thanks tnbutterfly
  8. lsprrnbr, Just wanted to let you know that I got your email and to THANK YOU so very much!!! You have been a tremendous help!!!
  9. lsprrnbr-thank you-
  10. Thank you soooo much for all of your excellent information!!! Yes, you have been very helpful. If you wouldn't mind-would you email it to me too? I can't figure how to pm either...I don't think I've posted enough...
  11. Thank you sooo much for all of your info!!! I'm not sure that I can PM yet. I haven't posted enough. I've mostly been a lurker for the last 3 years!! LOL Do you have any suggestions for me to get a head start this summer studying, learning terms or something like that? Do you study all of the time? I started taking my pre-reqs 4 years ago and have worked really hard...so I'm prepared to do whatever it takes. I'm very nervous though. Do you have any study tips? How do you stay organized? Sorry for so many questions...Wow, you started out with 60 students and you're down to 15 or 20 now...that's scary. One more question...Which hospital do you have clinicals? Thanks again!!! Yay you, you only have one more semester after this one. I know you're glad!!!
  12. Well, you know...I'm sure we'll find out mostly everything when we pick up our packets next Friday. Yay!! I'm too excited too!!! Can't stop thinking about it!! LOL Let me know if you find out anything else and I'll do the same....Yay Us!!!
  13. Shandra2008, I actually looked at Phillips in Arkansas and decided it was just too far for me to drive. It looked like a good school though...good luck, hope everything works out for you!!! :)
  14. Hey TN NurseStudent21, I have no earthly idea which teachers are good or not!!! I know nothing about Southwest. I took all of my pre-reqs at Northwest. Do you know anything about Southwest? Where did you take your pre-reqs? I'm just too excited!! Do you know what supplies we need? What color are the scrubs and where do we get them? Congrats!!
  15. Hey Shandra2008, I really don't have any tips other than to do your best on your pre-reqs and make sure you get ALL of your application stuff in on time. If you have to mail something call before the due date to make sure they got it. Luckily I called the day before the due date and there was one form or something they didn't receive and I was able to fax it over. I made a 125 on the NLN (I'm terrible in math). Had A's in A&P I & II and a B in Microbiology, don't really think that they look at your GPA. I was accepted the first time that I applied to Southwest but was denied twice at Northwest MSCC. Good Luck!!!
