Northlake/El Centro Spring 09

Anyone waiting to get accepted for the Spring 09 ADN program at Northlake or El Centro out there?

I know that letters (snail mail) is not even going out until 10/15, but it's killing me. Five more weeks until we find out. I feel like my life is on hold.:banghead:

They just called and revoked my admission- they messed up on the calculations. Now the lowest is 3.6 with 17 hours and I only had 3 at the time of application. :(

Oh, wow. I cannot imagine how hard that was to hear.

Maybe someone ahead of you will accept a slot elsewhere and give up theirs to you!

I cant even begin to imagine how hard that was for you!! i would be so sad and mad!!Hang in there is all i can say!!

As for me am still waiting!! I took Jaxia's advice and called el centro. But it was the same thing they told her when she had applied then. Told me to wait till Tue which will basically makes it two weeks!! Then after that i can go to elcentro!!

MissB08 -- I saw that you had one B in a pre-req. Was it a science? IIRC, one B in a non-science class gives you a 3.77 for the pre-req GPA. If it was a science, it'd be a little lower than that. If you can figure out your pre-req GPA, then you'll have a better idea of what to expect. When it comes to getting in the program, they don't care about any other classes while calculating your GPA -- just the pre-reqs. If there is a tie on the GPA, then they look at the number of support hours. Then, the co-reqs are calculated as a different number if they need another tie breaker.

Yeah i calculated it online with a GPA calculator and its 3.8 and i have at least 18 hrs of support courses so am hoping its good news i get!! But you never know, errors, miscalculations could still happen at el centro!!

I cannot believe El Centro did not QUADRUPLE check everything before they sent those letters out. To have someone wait, receive an acceptance letter and then revoke it is horrible. I was hoping they'd have late applications for Spring 09 but it looks like all the spaces may be filled so I'll try for Fall '09. My 3.4 GPA has me nervous. :(

They revoked my acceptance as well. She said it was 15 people that she had to call. I had been waiting for this for years. It's like I had it in my hands and then it was taken from me. But I feel that since they messed up they should still let us go it's only 15 of us. But it is still alot of time between now and January. Anything can happen! I still have hope.

Northlake, what was your gpa? I am so upset. You would really think they could find room for us. She said something about if they got more faculty she would let us in. But I wonder is that really something she is trying to do?

I hope more people find out about this because I can NOT believe that they would not check everything over and have no mistakes. They are so picky about our applications!

my gpa is a 3.6 and i had 9 hours of support courses. but we just need to stay positive! anything can happen! we are qualified just like the others. be happy for the ones that were looked over that should have got in. we will be nurses too. i know it will happen for us. you never know how this thing will turn around for us.:D

I talked to several people at El Centro, theysaid that they want to open up a new section so that they can have 60 students instead of 50. I hope someone will take the job so we can get in:D!!! I have a 3.73 GPA, 13 supporting classes with a 3.69 in that and 92 in the HESI, I was one of the ones they misscalculated the grades. Today is the last day for the ones who got accepted to call and confirm if they will go to El Centro or North Lake, there is always people that got in in different schols and reject their spot! They will start sending out new acceptence letters this wednesday (that is what I was told). Good luck to all of you guys!!!:anpom:

ijp7325. Your acceptance was revoked too with a 3.73? Did they say what the lowest was after the new calculations? This is a big mess!
