Hi everyone,
I'm looking into starting the PMHNP program a NKU. I am very nervous about what to expect and was hoping others who have attended the program could share some insight into the program. Are the exams proctored? Are the courses doable while working full time?

I have started the NKU PMHNP program and have read about finding preceptors, I will need a preceptor Aug 2021 and starting search now. Can anyone point me in best direction to find Psych preceptor? Live in Guthrie KY but willing to travel anywhere for preceptor, very serious about this! Any thoughts, ideas would be much appreciated!!

How do you like the program so far? Their site says they help finding clinical placement, is that not accurate?
I really like their program, honestly learning from MD’s they have as teachers, it’s not easy tho, it’s not a joke college. I spent Mon-Fri 4:30 till 8:30 working on homework and many weekends too. But it’s not as brutal as my bachelors at Austin Peay State U. Yes they will help with preceptors but ask that you search on your own too. I hope to work with soldiers at VA or Army hospital after graduation since I am a soldier myself and have experience caring for their mental trauma’s in past, the old saying “walk a mile in their shoes” I understand ? hope this helps!

I have applied for January 2021 start date; for PMHNP. I live in NV but originally from KY; I am hoping I get in. Is there a facebook page?
Not that I know of at present. Hope you get accepted ? I like the program, I don’t think much different than other programs, I had a acquaintance who went to Union University, his program was much the same, self taught online reading, tests, papers, ect. except he had to go to school every quarter for labs. I don’t have that ability with military so I chose this one. I have books I’ll sell for $20 ea if need them. Reach out if have questions and I’ll help ya out! ?

I know a few PMHNPs practicing in Muhlenberg and Hopkins counties. I can hook you up with them if you are needing preceptors.

Hello PsychNurse94,
I also have applied for Jan 2021 start date. What have your heard about the program in regards to testing and student reviews? I am looking for a study partner for test, etc. I currently live in Houston TX. Did you find out if there was a facebook page?
I did not find a facebook page. I have read very little about the program as far as reviews go. I know that NKU is a solid, reputable nursing school; they have had one of only two CRNA programs in the state. Are you doing the PMHNP program?

I did find a FB group NKU PMHNP Cohort. Yes, I’ll be starting in January.
