Hello Everyone!
I have recently interviewed for the ED/NICU/PICU Fellowship at NSLIJ and I wanted to get some feedback about the program from past or recent nurses in the same program. Also, it would be nice to connect to other applicants out there who are going through the process!
How did your interview go? They told me they only pick 10 candidates so let's keep our fingers crossed!! Sounds like an amazing experience and I'm so grateful to had the chance to interview.
Good luck and keep me posted!
Hmmm...weird because the manager I spoke to from ED was definitely in peds! All the questions they asked me were all about peds, why peds blah...blah. Being a children hospital I assumed they also have their own ED and the ED I toured after my interview was definitely peds and not adult. I would actually prefer if it was mixed because it would be more interesting.

I think she said we take up to ages 30 for ED. Hopefully we get a mix of both adults and peds cause then that would be a great experience!
I just interviewed, it went well. I just met the recruiter lady. She asked me why nursing, strengths, weaknesses, the most critical patient I've had and a head to toe assessment on them and a time when I went above and beyond for a patient. Overall it was very good. What sucks is that I'm a new grad with no nclex date yet, so they are apprehensive to hire people in my situation. She said to call her as soon as I have a date.

Yes, I graduated in January and got my license in February. I don't think it should be a problem though if you can get a date for exam and/or temporary permit no? It would be weird if they even waste their time interviewing new graduates, who still don't have a license and then don't even consider them for the position!
Are you currently waiting for your ATT?

Really? When I spoke to the managers they told me that it's NICU, PEDS and ED and once you start working they can float either of the 3 units, depending on how busy it is. ED is different ages I believe so I guess we get a little of everything!
