Hi sophhusk! Congratulations on your interview!! Unfortunately I had the same problem and realized I forgot to ask for their email. But I did email a thank you note to the HR lady and mentioned to also thank the other managers I met with. Sorry! Now fingers crossed....

I always do PDF and I don't think they had any problems opening it.

NYP self assessment
Very basic questions like why nursing? why NYP? and top 3 favorite specialties. Nothing crazy and that's why I don't understand the silence!! Especially when they told me "Great! We will contact you shortly to schedule an interview!!!!""????

Yes, I graduated in January and got my license in February. I don't think it should be a problem though if you can get a date for exam and/or temporary permit no? It would be weird if they even waste their time interviewing new graduates, who still don't have a license and then don't even consider them for the position! Are you currently waiting for your ATT?

NYP self assessment
Hi! I took my battery test first week in April. Had my phone interview April 17 and we left off saying that I will be contacted shortly for an interview and then never heard from them again. I find it kind of rude not to get back to a candidate, especially when they have already wasted their time on a phone interview, it would be nice to say "Sorry, no thank you!" I'll be better off knowing that, than just nothing! Anyway....got another offer :)

Need a Job
I agree with Estrella. I did not know anyone who helped me with my job offer. I passed my NCLEX in February. I have been applying EVERYWHERE and I finally landed a couple of interviews and got an offer. From my experience, looking for a job it is a full time job! You have to be very diligent about your strategies. Even if you have already applied to a position at one hospital, check that website every single day for other openings. Keep an excel sheet of all the places you have applied and do a little research about nursing recruitment. Some hospital post their telephone numbers on their website. Pick up the phone and try to make that personal connection. I know it's hard and frustrating but this is what it takes. Also, how is your resume looking? Make sure when you apply on line for a position, you change the objective of your resume with the same wording used in the job description. Those words will be picked up automatically by a computer and they need to match with your resume. I totally agree...it is exhausting!! But I can honestly tell you that if you are diligent you will definitely land an interview, especially if you already have experience, which I believe you do. Good luck!

Hmmm...weird because the manager I spoke to from ED was definitely in peds! All the questions they asked me were all about peds, why peds blah...blah. Being a children hospital I assumed they also have their own ED and the ED I toured after my interview was definitely peds and not adult. I would actually prefer if it was mixed because it would be more interesting.
