Published

Congrats to all of us that were accepted to the nursing program at either campus for Fall '06!!!!

:balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons:

I'm going to be at the NLC campus! See you in June for orientation!

Also, congrats for making it to the next semester to all new 2nd - 4th semester NLC/ECC student nurses & congrats to the graduates! :balloons:

Good luck to everyone!

Kendra, when I ordered mine, I got two different stories.

One guy said they would wait and order when the page was full, and the other said it didn't have to be full. (Explaining as if they were going to order it that day.

That's why I called. I told them, "Well, that's not what I was told, so I was getting a little concerned about not being called yet." Anywho...at least I know they're not setting up there, my name was magically erased :chuckle, or the page with my name on it was lost. :uhoh3:

ALL IS FINE! :D (At least, I hope.)

Is orientation the only time to be able to order a uniform?

Fun,

Good luck with that whole name tag thing. It took them forever and then they messed my name and title up so I had to wait another few weeks!

I think that's the only time you can order the uniforms because they take soooooooo long to come in. It may be different for people coming in the Fall as there isn't as much time between Fall and Spring semester. I don't know though...I'm excited to hear about how your orientation goes!

Test was fine -- I got a 95 and a 92. After taking it, I think it is funny that I was worried about it. I'm so glad I'm about done with my application stuff!

CONGRATULATIONS Jaxia!!!!!

I hope you had a great birthday! :D I'm glad your trip was fun for you.

Allison, I wouldn't be surprised if they mess up on my name either...first or last. :uhoh3:

I hope not though.

That's true about the uniform. I wonder if I can slide by with only buying one. If the next orientation is in November, then I'd only be going to clinical for one month before the next orientation.

Hmmmmmmm

I don't know what is up with the people that make the nametags. I think they just read what they want to hahaha.

I bought 2 uniforms and it was a waste of my money. With only going to the hospital one day a week, I was able to wash the one set in plenty of time. I wish I could go back and not buy that second set. I think it depends on how many days you're at the hospital and how long it takes you to do laundry :lol2:

I'm more worried about getting one messed up for whatever reason, and not having another to change into.

Thanks Face :) It was beautiful. The cottage where we stayed looked out over the ocean. When I walked in, there were a few chocolates, a bottle of wine, three balloons and a note from the staff wishing me a happy birthday! For dinner, they gave us the best seat in the place with a beautiful view of the ocean at sunset. The piano player played happy birthday as they carried out my dessert. It was amazing, to say the least!

Personally, I hate doing laundry. Sooo, I might get 4 uniforms ;D

Katie, or any of the 2nd+ semester students, didn't you buy the SNA Nurse Pac?

Was this all that came with it: "Littman Select stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, pen light, pocket protector carrying kit (containing scissors and a 3-color chart pen), vis-à-vis pen for skills lab, all in a custom SNA logo attaché bag"?

I have all of those things, except the 3-color chart pen, vis-à-vis pen, and of course the SNA logo bag.

I'm wondering if I really need to spend the extra $95? If that's all that's in it, then I don't need to.

Also, the e-mail I received today said the uniform company will be there at 11:30....the flyer in the acceptance packet said 12:30.

I bought that nurse pac because I didn't have anything when I started.

I think you don't need to buy the pac unless you want the SNA logo bag. :)

You won't miss the 3-color pen. I only used black pens and bought them in bulk. (They tend to disappear.) You will need to buy or borrow a vis-a-vis pen because we use them during skills lab.

Are you excited to see your classmates and start the 'nursing school experience'? :smokin:

I don't plan on buying the SNA logo bag, but how big is it? I have a bag that my mom bought me that is navy blue and pink & has NURSE on it with a pink ribbon on either side. :D (A Breast Cancer Awareness bag.)

Yep, I'm excited. :D I know one person (from my A&P 1 class), have talked to a couple on here, but other than those three, I'm interested to know if I know anyone else. :p

It would be a good size to carry a big book, notes and some personal stuff, but it isn't strong enough to do that. So I hardly use it now.

Cool...thanks.

The bag I have is probably around the same size. :D
