I'm going to be at the NLC campus! See you in June for orientation!
Also, congrats for making it to the next semester to all new 2nd - 4th semester NLC/ECC student nurses & congrats to the graduates! :balloons:
Good luck to everyone!
Personally, I didn't study for the 2nd semester HESI because I wanted to see where I stood. I feel like if I tried to study for it, it wouldn't be a good indication of my knowledge and what I needed to study longterm. Plus, I was more worried about that final, anyhow.
However, had I realized then that I had to pay $30 to do the case studies, well ... I probably would have studied But yeah, the case studies are VERY easy. Pointless, really. A waste of $30 IMO.
We had one drop by the drop date, and at least one who didn't make it after the HESI.
....It really upsets me because I know good and well in other programs, this person would be high enough to pass.
There was so much emotion all around after the HESI. If someone was crying, you really couldn't tell if it was from being happy they passed, or sad that's it's all coming to an end, letting out stress, or if they didn't pass.
Hi everyone,I am so glad we are done, Hesi over, El Centro over, yeaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh.
I went down in points and percent too, compared to second semester, but I did good. So I am happy.
Pecked to death, yes, you will have only one chance, but it counts as your final (20% of your grade). So as long as you keep your grades up during the semester you should be ok. It is just very stressful overall.
Katie and Allison, I am so glad you are doing great. I commend you for being back in classes. I have thought about it , but right now I don't want to see another book. But wait I still have to study for NCLEX,

Congratulations Mysterious!!!!!! You'll do great on NCLEX- no worries! It's not worth the worry...trust me....I regret that period in my life where I worried sick about that dang NCLEX....but it's like a distant memory now.
I am so happy to hear everyone is going on to the next semester!!! The case studies were stupid...I had to do them too....but that was like sooooo last year No one even knows now nor do they care how I did on HESI
I am finally on my own!!!! It took how long?? Taking an Internship in the ICU was like taking on a 5th semester. We all referred to it as our 5th semester of nursing school. We had tests, study groups and we even had a final!! I'm so glad that's all over with! I think most Internships are grueling no matter which department you head into and I think that's mostly because you're so burned out from nursing school. All of my patients have survived so far. I only had 4 of them code on me during my Internship. I just now took ACLS this past week so I had to participate in these codes not having a clue what I was doing...I kept thinking, "What did they do on ER again?" hahahha. Thankfully I know now and I'm ready for my next code...that sounds horrible doesn't it?
I love working nights...I love my paycheck and I love the group of people...they're much more mellow than the day crew but I still love the day people as well. I'm really happy with my choice in hospitals...we made redesignation of Magnet status (the first in North Texas to get it again...I'm a little proud) and we all got free meals for a week (sounds lame when I say it out loud hahaha) ...
I love coming on here and reading about everyone's updates!!!! Keep up the good work everyone!!!

Spoiled, do you want to reveal your real name by PM?
Do you know who I am?
Yes, we had to do case studies---and we had to pay $30 to do them also! Gotta pay em as I walk out the door- damnit. Thankfully they were pretty easy and I have them done already. Finally I'm free for the summer- minus the modules we are being required to do over the summer, but they will be due later on.
