Congrats to all of us that were accepted to the nursing program at either campus for Fall '06!!!!

I went to bed around midnight. My body tells me when to hit the sack..you know, when you find yourself waking up from a cat nap with piles of books on top of you? HAHA Yep, time to go to bed then.

thanks for asking, I'm pumping myself full of flu meds,lol. On top of that , I just was informed from my GI doc, that I have to have my gall bladder taken out. Well, let me see , how am I fitting this into my schedule, hmmmmmmmmmm...........

om gosh mysterious...that stinks! do they have to do it right away, or can they postpone it until summer? I'm so sorry you have to deal with all that right now. This isn't such a wonderful spring break for you, huh? I hope all goes well!

I'm not sure, I haven't talked back with him or the surgeon yet, but I'm sure I can postpone, I've been dealing with these stomach pains for some years now.

They actually been trying to tell me that all I have is irritable bowels syndrom, I just knew that there was something more.

In a way , I want to have it done , cause I'm tired of the pain, plus I'm hoping for an externship in the summer.

They actually been trying to tell me that all I have is irritable bowels syndrom, I just knew that there was something more.

In a way , I want to have it done , cause I'm tired of the pain, plus I'm hoping for an externship in the summer.

The recovery is not bad. I was out the same day it was done and went back to class a day later. I just walked very carefully and took my time. I wouldn't try going to clinicals though.

I have had several patients have their GB's out in the past few months (they seeem to come in groups) and all of them were back at work in a few days!

It isn't the major ordeal it used to be - they generally do it through tiny little incisions now with a scope.

Are any of you who are in the El Centro program THR employees who will be doing the tuition reimbursement program?

My best friend is interested in starting nursing school and I recommended that she look into El Centro's ADN program (Im a THR nurse) but I wasnt sure how the tuition reimbursement worked... if she were to start an externship or work as a PCT after her first semester (which I think is the "required" amount of experience for the position), at what point would she be able to take advantage of the tuition reimbursement? Would she have to be a THR employee for a certain amount of time BEFORE she starts the program in order to qualify?

Any insight would be great!

i think i will have it scheduled as soon as poss. , I know we can miss one clinical, so I should be fine. I just have to figure out with all the checkoffs and tests....

no , I am sorry I believe everyone on here is just plain old EL Centro/NL student, there maybe someone on the spring O6 thread, I am not sure.

Brie is a THR, but she is on a cruise....the dirty dawg....lol. She'll probably spot that post when she gets back, Grapejuice. She is a Spring 06 student, but she checks this thread too, I believe.

Myself.....I'm sad that this week of "Spring Work" is almost over. I need another week to catch up!

I know THR has a limited amount of seats as well. I'm not sure of the criteria, though. I'm sure Brie will be able to answer your questions. ;)
