Congrats to all of us that were accepted to the nursing program at either campus for Fall '06!!!!

I'm going to be at the NLC campus! See you in June for orientation!
Also, congrats for making it to the next semester to all new 2nd - 4th semester NLC/ECC student nurses & congrats to the graduates! :balloons:
Good luck to everyone!
Are we not given enough time to practice? Are we given less time than last semester? Are we given too much paperwork to have enough time to practice and study for the exams? (Which by the way, was not soley on the powerpoints....not even close!)
There are a lot to do in 2nd semester. You have to keep up with your schedule. I agree that there are too much paperwork there. Also it's hard to find time to practice skills. By the way, IV check off was the same for me. It seems very easy, you have to connect the tubing and the bag. But, when you have to do it in 20 minutes with all the calculations and drops counting it becomes hard.
I know that nobody gets blueprint this semester and it makes your lecture tests harder. Last semester I did only study the lecture slides and I got a B. (Although I knew most of the slides by heart.)
About the careplans. If you have time we can go over it at NLC. I don't have perfect careplans but I always got A on my majors. I think I will be at NLC on Monday 26th and Wednesdays. (I took Ms. B's careplan class and that helped a lot.)
Let me know if I can help more.
I know that you are a smart girl and you can do it!
Katie
Thanks Katie. On the 26th I have the pharm test, so that's out.
I made a 96 last semester on my major careplan. I know on MY first mini I turned in to Mrs. E, I forgot to put the I, D, C, and she said she wanted times...even if you had to make up a time "at 1300". So, nothing major.
She accidently left our folders at home Thursday, so I won't see what corrections she made on my NBN mini until Monday. (Of course, for mine, she probably didn't like my reasoning of having both be d/t problems with breastfeeding.)
I'll get my work back Monday during post-conference, and I'll let ya know. I think that's another thing hurting me....living in the Mansfield area & driving in 4 X a week. (I think it's mostly been 5 days a week.)
God forbid I have to repeat this semester and I am lucky enough to get the chance to come back, I won't choose a 4 day a week clinical. That's for sure!!!!!

I am sure your mini careplan is the best of your clinical group.
Katie
:rotfl: Thanks. She probably rolled her eyes and got out an extra pen to mark all over it.
My legs hurt now that I've been sitting on my butt studying all day! I REALLLLLLLLY need to get a treadmill.
I've been reviewing for the pharm test. Now I need to get busy doing the case study for Monday, and of course, practice the IM again and study for the next test.
OK...I have been practicing IM's this whole time!
Now, next on the agenda is reading/doing the study guide for the lecture exam! (The case study is being put off until tomorrow.) :chair:
Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday night!

ah, the lovely effects of nursing school I am working on my major care plan and my husband has fallen asleep on the couch. Whoever would've guessed my Saturday nights would be so cool :rotfl:
Good luck on your recheck! One thing about Ms A is that she's a pain in the A (LOL) but she drills it into your head and you will be perfect at it...the only bad thing is that the "lesson" comes at the cost of your grade...at least that's how it's been for me in clinical with her.
Have fun studying!
OK....tomorrow's case study is finished!
I really hate to say this, but I do like the case studies. They are interesting...I just wish I had time to enjoy doing them.
Alright.....study for pharm? Study for test 2 lecture? Practice skills?
Never a dull moment!
Too bad the nursing faculty doesn't agree. LOL!
Post-Conference was canceled today, so I won't have my paperwork back until March 1st!
This Thursday, campus is closed, therfore no clinical. Monday, the 26th, we weren't going to have Post-conference already d/t the Pharm test. So, March 1st is it.
Today has been a productive day already, and it's only 10 AM. (I get up way too early!) lol
I've been studying for the Pharm test, reviewing the power points for the lecture exam to keep that stuff fresh in my head d/t it being a month away! I've ben getting ready for SIMBaby on Wednesday, and will practice IMs later on as well as all the above all over again. ha
Hope everyone's day is going well. :)

I had my SIM Baby yesterday, so I have that out of the way, now we have to study for this Pharmtest, Majorcare plan , Virtual clinicals and yes we got Case studies, too.
