I'm going to be at the NLC campus! See you in June for orientation!
Also, congrats for making it to the next semester to all new 2nd - 4th semester NLC/ECC student nurses & congrats to the graduates! :balloons:
Good luck to everyone!
Hey Fun -- So, you did debind your books, right? Are you glad you did it?
I had one debound. Actually...mix feelings there. Sometimes I thought it was a PIA, other times it didn't bother me.
I use my laptop mostly anyway, and usually don't have the book/pages with me in class anyway. I guess it would be different it you stuck around campus to read or something....
Do you use your laptop IN class? Are there power outlets handy? Do the teachers seem to mind? I know I'll be on a different campus, but it's good to know.
At NLC there were outlets handy, not sure about ECC. One girl brought her laptop every time to lecture & took notes that way. I brought mine once or twice.
No, Mrs. J doesn't seem to mind. I'm sure they don't at ECC either, unless people complain about you typing too hard. HAHAHA
I bring my laptop to school everytime. I take all my notes that way because I type faster than I can write. I just got my book box. Does anyone have any info about what is covered on the first section? I'd like to look through it and see. Thanks for any info you can give!Kathy
I know it jumped all over the place, but I'm pretty sure we covered the first several chapters in order.
Of course, I really don't know if ECC followed the same order, but you'd think it would be safe to learn the history, and theories of nursing, etc that's covered in the first few.
(I'd say make flash cards on all the values that you come across.)
Was this in the Fundamentals of Nursing book? What about any pharm that we need to know the first semester? Did they give you a drug list? I just want to get a jump on things so I'm prepared and ahead of the game...lol.Saying that, I realize what a geek I am...lol
Kathy
You will use the Fundamentals mostly. In the Skills lab packet, there is a list of meds. There are other meds that you will find in the syllabus.
I know how you feel (I was the same way!), but also try to relax. You will sooooooooo want the restful days back. lol
(I say that with a plan of studying meds during the break.) lol
(Oh...and speaking of the skills lab packet, there are several forms in there. I recommend that you make copies, and not use the original forms.) :)

you are not failing lecture, yet! As you said yourself , all you need is a 80 and an 82. Tell yourself that , over and over again, yes you can do it. Believe it, with all your heart. I will be praying for you Friday.
I heard about your hard test number 4, and this next one will be better.
You can do it.
