Ok folks - it is that time again .... there are many new names and faces (well avatars anyway) on our web site ... time to get to know the North Carolina people.
Lets give a location - why you are there, your current nursing status and anything else you might want to share ....
I am Patrick, the moderator for the North Carolina Forum ... live in Asheville - moved here a year ago from Florida and love the mountains and the moderate climate .... can tell you that Hurricane Frances breezed through town last week and gave us a lot of headaches! Anyway, I am a nurse manager for a med-surg unit and a single father of 3. I attend the University of Phoenix and am hoping to graduate with my BSN-MSN in the very near future.
Hi all! I live in Raleigh, NC, and am anxiously waiting to find out whether or not I got into nursing school. I have applied to UNC's 24-month BSN program.....wish me luck!!
Did any of you go through their program or have you heard anything about it?
PS: If I do get in, I'll be signing a contract to work at UNC Hospital after I graduate so any info on that hospital, certain units, etc, would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for all of your help!

Hi NC. I'm an ICU RN from PA starting a travel assignment in Charlotte next week. Crossing my fingers and everything else that it'll be a good job with good people.
Hi Kaliee I am not too far from you.
I hope your assignment in Charlotte works out for you.
You will be approx 1 1/2- 2 hours from me.
I wish you all the best with your job. :)
] Good luck c your assignment I live about 30 min from Charlotte, have worked a Presbyterian (great place beautiful campus), Carolina's Medical Center
:barf01: (Poor care short staffed laze nurses Trauma and critical care are better), Gaston Memorial Caromont
:barf01:is magnet but they did not deserve it. I was there when they got it and the nurses were asked to script their responses overall okay place, if you are in L&D or the critical care units. Have fun c you assignment many things to do in the area Carolina Panthers football, Charlotte Bobcats basketball, and a non-stop night life, great food good area to visit. Also not far from the blue ridge mountains (my home town of Boone) skiing, and you are near the coast. Let me know where you are assigned..
