have you started becoming anal about things?
this thread is so great, i am cracking up over here. all of these things drive me nuts too! one that i will add is when people are looking for something they have lost and then find it. they say "it's always in the last place you look" OF COURSE it is in the last place you look, you wouldn't keep looking after you found it. like, "oh good i found it. . .but i'll keep on looking in a couple more places" hahaha it will always be in the last place you look. i promise. :heartbeatsilly rn

Ways I have heard Metoprolol pronounced...by medical personnel.
last week my patient told me all about the "blood clog" she got in her leg after her last surgery. . . and since when did people start saying sont-a-meter instead of cent-i -meter? and sont-a-grade instead of cent-i-grade? ******and the worst one of all. . .the misuse of the word nauseous. you feel NAUSEATED not NAUSEOUS, and the cause of you NAUSEATION is what is actually NAUSEOUS. look it up folks, it is true!!! actually i'll look it up for you. . .The American Heritage English Dictionary says: nauseousCausing nausea; sickeningnauseatedTo be feeling, or having been caused to feel nausea.i know, i know. . .i am probably fighting a losing battle. but it is a good fight, for a good cause. thanks for your time, silly rn

Pros/Cons of Pool?
i must be the luckiest float nurse alive! i work at a huge hospital, get paid more than staff nurses, get benefits, get all the hours i could ever want, and have an amazing management team. (and my very own mailbox too:up:) but my float pool did require at least 1 year of staff nurse experience. this is a good thing though. . .i can imagine that it would be very hard to float right out of school as you have all of the normal new grad stressors. you don't know about those yet, but you will, trust me. get your one year under your belt. . .really learn HOW to be a nurse, on one unit, then float away baby!!! it was one of the best decisions i have ever made! everyday i love going to work in the morning knowing that i will have a different batch of nurses and patients to have fun with. go for it and you will find yourself just as happy as me! good luck with the rest of your education, have fun and learn a lot your first year and please contact me anytime if you have questions about floating. . . :redbeathe silly rn
