No rehire !!!!!!!!!!

Can I ask everyone which hospitals in Dallas have the practice of labelling their employees as No rehire?

If there is no offence on the part of the employee and they served their notice period but left the organization before 6 months , can they still do that?

But my point here is that you cannot just label anyone not eligible for rehire unless there is a serious error/ warning or anything like that.

This is where you are wrong. A company can label someone as ineligible for rehire in their organization for any reason that they want. It is their choice and their decision.

The company deemed you a non rehire because you did not finish probation. Thats all. 'They' the company does not want to waste resources on someone that will not finish the probationary period. In turn, you did not have to give notice. A probation period is for both the employer and employee. If you decide it won't work out for you all you simply have to do is state 'I am going to exercise my right in this probationary period and resign now. It is not for me'. Thats it.

Do u think its right????Doesn't it make them abuse their power?

Of course it's right. An employer who to hire or not hire is just an employer going about their business and protecting themselves from those who have proven themselves to be unreliable employees.

I said it before: your view of Americans' rights vs. privilege are quite flawed. The workplace does not owe you anything that you have not earned.

Is it right, as in ethical? Probably not. But you have to understand that they are looking out for themselves, for the organization. And maybe pointing out to a boss that someone has bad-mouthed the organization or the boss makes the one doing the pointing out look good to that person's boss.

It's a dog eat dog world. The faster you accept that concept, the better off you will be - unless you suddenly come into a lot of money. enough to not have to ask anyone for a job.

Abuse of power? Maybe. It's how life is, though. Those with power don't usually willingly give it up or share it. Would you? Honestly?

Move on. Get a different job. Why would you even consider going back there if you left it before because of a safety issue (which is probably still the same)?

You've vented, now move past this.

I know it hurts. It's happened to many of us, I reckon. We share your pain. But grow up, grow strong, move on. And I wish you all the best.

What I don't see here is any discussion of what the nurse in question is risking. My education and license cost me a serious chunk. School was no cakewalk and I was on the hook for thousands. It's true no one is owed a job (I've been an employer in another field; been there done that) but if a corporation takes action that arbitrarily debases the value of my investment (essentially deprives me of my time and money without cause or due process) and also damages my ability to utilize my investment/ license long term, that amounts to theft. Poisoning my name and person in the workplace without due cause amounts to libel. I am a protected class. I'm an American. We have rules. You can't steal my stuff.

Group One is actually not the force it once was. MANY employers have left it. Even Baylor has quit using them.

I think the main ones left that use it are Childrens, THR, Nueterra (Cook's northeast hospital), and Parkland. I made an updated post about this a few months ago. Also, if you are listed as non-rehirable - after 7 years from your leave date, that information is removed. Like a credit report, it's considered "negative" information and falls off. They can only tell dates of hire and position held at that point.

I totally AGREE

I was deemed non rehireable at my first nurse job, didn't find out until I had an interview to go back to work there. New boss had my non rehireable status removed. So there is hope if you can at least get an interview with a manager.

No company is required to rehire anyone. However, depending on the state, they may not be permitted to disclose to other potential employers whether you're rehireable or not. Every state has its own laws regarding what information employers are permitted to provide to others.

In the Dallas/Ft. Worth area they have a "list" called care one or source one, something like that... anywho, if you get fired or don't work out your notice from any facility and someone places you on this list, you might as well move out of the state because you basically will not get hired by any medical establishment. Not even a back door pain clinic will hire you! It sucks because I've been told that they don't have to tell you that they are placing you on this list or the reason that they do and there is NOTHING you can do about it to get your name off.
